<h2>2024 Hero Glamour: Engine and Features</h2>

<p>On the mechanical side of things, the bike remains unchanged, with the same 124.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that puts out a maximum power of&nbsp;10.72bhp at 7,500rpm&nbsp;and peak torque of 10.6Nm at 6,000rpm. It also continues to use&nbsp;telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks for suspension. The braking system, however, differs based on the variant selected. For example,&nbsp;the standard model features drum brakes on both ends, whereas the top-spec model has a front disc and a rear drum brake.</p>

<p>In terms of features, the 2024 model now has an LED headlamp, hazard lamp, and stop-start switch. It is also equipped with&nbsp;a smartphone charging port and&nbsp;a digital instrument cluster.&nbsp;</p>

The Glamour comes in two variations: the Drum and the Disc, with the latter costing Rs 86,348 (ex-showroom). The bike has mostly been modified in terms of features and ergonomics by the firm. According to the manufacturer, the new Glamour is a 'technologically advanced' model as far as the 125cc segment is concerned. <p>The bikemaker has installed a digital instrument cluster on the new product that displays all the necessary data, including real-time mileage. The idle start-stop technology in the Glamour, which was also featured in the motorbike, automatically shuts off the engine if it is left running for a short period of time. <p>The fuel tank shrouds and front cowl are still present on the new Glamour, and the bike's new chequered stripes further enhance its sporty appearance. <p>The festive season is around the corner and automakers will be hoping that the demand for cars and two-wheelers goes up in the next two months. With that in mind, most manufacturers have also started releasing special edition variants of their products. The latest of these is Hero MotoCorp’s&nbsp;Glamour Blaze. Priced at Rs 72,200, the special edition variant of the Glamour comes with a snazzy paint scheme and it also brings along the convenience of a USB charger with the motorcycle. Interestingly, the motorcycle is priced lower than the standard disc brake variant of the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/hero/glamour/">Glamour</a> (priced at Rs 74,000, ex-showroom, Delhi).</p>

<p>Hero launched the all-new Glamour earlier this year, meaning the motorcycle has an all-new engine, frame and design. The Glamour Blaze shares the same mechanicals but gets a new ‘Matt Vernier Grey’ colour scheme with ‘Funk-Lime Yellow’ graphics. The addition of the USB charger to the handlebar also makes it the only motorcycle in the 125cc segment to have this feature. Apart from these two highlights, the motorcycle is unchanged.</p>

<p>Powering the motorcycle is the same air-cooled 125cc single-cylinder engine that develops 10.7bhp and 10.6Nm of torque. The motorcycle comes with a 5-speed gearbox, and it also comes with Hero’s start-stop system and ‘Auto Sail’ technology. Along with that, the Glamour Blaze gets a side-stand indicator and gets a 240mm front disc, as well as a combined braking system.</p>

In view of the upcoming festivities, Hero MotoCorp has launched the special edition Glamour Blaze in the market. The motorcycle comes with a new paint scheme and a USB charger, and it's priced at Rs 72,200.

<p>Hero MotoCorp has taken the wraps off three new BS6 spec motorcycles today, the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/hero/passion-plus/"><strong>Passion,</strong></a> <strong><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/hero/glamour/">Glamour</a></strong> and Xtreme 160R. The Passion and the Xtreme have undergone a major design overhaul which gives them chunkier body panels that are multi-coloured to ensure they grab attention on the streets. The Glamour meanwhile retains a more traditional design for its body panels but it too comes with a dual-tone paint theme.</p>

<p>Hero MotoCorp will be launching the Xtreme 160R in April 2020. Goes without saying that it will be powered by a 160cc&nbsp;engine. The unit develops 15bhp of max power and 14Nm of peak torque and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The motorcycle weighs in at 138kg and it is claimed to have a 0 – 60km/h time of 4.7 seconds. The Xtreme has also been given a 7-step adjustable rear mono-shock suspension,&nbsp;a full LED headlamp, LED turn indicators and a hazard lamp switch. The Xtreme 160 will be offered with a choice of a rear drum or&nbsp;disc brake while the front wheel will have a disc as standard,&nbsp;both variants will have a single channel ABS system.</p>

<p>The Hero Glamour BS6 is being offered with a 125cc single cylinder, air cooled engine featuring XSens fuel injection. As a result, it now produces 19% more power with 10.73bhp of power @ 7,500rpm and 10.6Nm of torque @ 6,000rpm. Prices for the new Glamour range between Rs. 68,900 for the drum brake variant to Rs. 72,400 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the disc brake variant.</p>

<p>The new <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/hero/passion-plus/">Hero Passion</a> Pro was also launched alongside the Glamour. The new BS6 Hero Passion Pro is powered by a 110cc engine featuring XSens fuel injection and develops 9bhp @ 7,500rpm and torque is rated at 9.79Nm&nbsp;@ 5,000rpm. The motorcycle also features Hero’s i3s idle stop-start system. In its revamped avatar, the motorcycle also gets auto-sail technology, higher ride height and a digital instrument cluster with a real-time mileage indicator. The motorcycle has been launched in two variants with prices ranging between Rs. 64,990 for the drum brake model while the disc brake equipped model retails at Rs. 67,190 (ex-showroom Delhi).</p>

<p>Hero also showcased a Rally Kit for the Xpulse 200 that takes inspiration from hero’s rally bikes. The kit for the Xpulse includes a fully-adjustable telescopic fork front suspension with 250mm stroke and a 10-step adjustable rear monoshock suspension with 220mm stroke. The Xpulse rally kit also brings in a flat bench rear seat, handle bar risers, a set of Maxxis rally tyres, increased ground clearance of 275mm and a longer side stand to deal with the added height, along with an extended gear lever to accommodate off-road style boots.</p>

Hero MotoCorp launches new Passion Pro and Glamour

Hero MotoCorp has taken the wraps off three new BS6 spec motorcycles today, the Passion, Glamour and Xtreme 160R. The Passion and the Xtreme have undergone a major design overhaul which gives them chunkier body panels that are multi-coloured to ensure they grab attention on the streets.

<p><strong>Hero MotorCorp has finally commenced deliveries of the new Glamour but for it to shake up the sales charts, it has to compete against the Honda Shine and the <a href="https://www.autox.com/reviews/bike-reviews/bajaj-v12-review-first-ride/">Bajaj V12</a>.</strong></p>

<p>In the 125cc class of motorcycles, the Honda Shine and the <a href="https://www.autox.com/reviews/bike-reviews/new-hero-glamour-review-first-ride/">Hero Glamour</a> have always fought hard on the sales charts. But towards the end of 2016, the Glamour was somewhat losing out to the Honda Shine. To add to the mix, Bajaj also added the V12 to its lineup. To bring back the ‘Glamour’ in their 125cc segment sales, Hero has now updated the model. We dig into the specifications and brochures of these three motorcycles to find out how they stack up</p>

<p><strong>Engine: </strong></p>

<p>Of the three motorcycles in the discussion, the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/hero/glamour/">Hero Glamour</a> is the most powerful of the lot. The Glamour makes peak power of 11.4bhp while the Shine SP and the V12 produce 10.16bhp and 10.5bhp respectively. In terms of torque too, the Glamour ranks higher than its rivals. The max torque of 11Nm that the Hero makes also gives it an edge over the Honda that makes 10.3Nm. The Bajaj’s torque is marginally lesser than the Glamour at 10.9Nm. As far as the transmission goes, the Glamour is the only motorcycle to be mated to a 4-speed transmission while the other two are paired with a 5-speed box.</p>

<p>Although the numbers show that the Shine SP makes the least power and torque of the lot, consider its 123kg kerb weight into the calculation and the equation changes altogether. The Bajaj V12 is the heaviest of the lot at 133kg. The Glamour with the disc brake option weighs 127kg. As far as the engine and weight are concerned, all three motorcycles are more or less equally matched and only a thorough text will reveal which of the three performs better on the road.</p>

<p><strong>Dimensions: </strong></p>

<p>Although it doesn't look like it, the Bajaj V12 is the longest of the three motorcycles. The V12 is 2,040mm and at 1,315mm it also has the longest wheelbase of the lot.The Glamour’s length stands at 2,023 while the Shine SP is the shortest of the lot at 2,007mm. The wheelbase of both these motorcycles stands at 1,262mm and 1,266mm respectively. To the delight of a lot of short riders, the V12’s seat is a lot lower to the ground at 780mm. The Glamour’s seat is marginally higher at 790mm. Meanwhile, at 800mm the Shine SP has the tallest seat height.</p>

<p>The efficiency of these motorcycles is more or less similar. While the V12 and Shine SP claim 65kmpl, Hero claims that the Glamour can go a distance of about 60km in a litre of fuel in real world conditions.</p>

<p>Speaking of fuel efficiency, the Hero MotoCorp has fitted their patented i3s tech in the Glamour as well. This technology is essentially like the start/stop feature that we find in cars quite often. When stopped at a red light, the engine automatically cuts off resulting in better fuel efficiency. To start the bike again, one simply has to engage the clutch. But the Glamour is not the only bike in this comparison to come with such advanced tech. The Shine SP makes use of Honda Eco Tech (HET) and the Combi Brake System (CBS). While Hero and Honda have tech on their side, Bajaj has the advantage of its INS Vikrant lineage working in its favour.</p>

<p>In terms of price, the Bajaj V12 is the cheapest of the lot at Rs 59,552 for the disc brake option. The similarly specced Glamour carries a sticker price of Rs 60,860. The Honda Offering with the CBS option is the most expensive of the lot at Rs 65,181. The Japanese bike maker also has a disc brake variant without the option of CBS but that too costs Rs 63,181. In the 125cc class of motorcycles, the Honda Shine and the Hero Glamour have always fought hard on the sales charts. But towards the end of 2016, the Glamour was somewhat losing out to the Honda Shine.

<p>Hero MotoCorp have set their sight on global expansion and the launch of the new Glamour 125 at Buenos Aires, Argentina, is their first step to achieve this ambitious plan. This is the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer's first-ever global launch of a new product outside of India. For Central and South American markets, the new <a href="https://www.autox.com/reviews/bike-reviews/new-hero-glamour-review-first-ride/">Hero Glamour</a> will be called the Ignitor.</p>

<p>The Glamour is powered by a 125cc engine that boasts an power output of 11.4bhp at 7,500 rpm and maximum torque of 11Nm at 6,500 rpm. It is not only BS-IV compliant, but also uses Hero's start-stop technology, i3S, which will ensure that the new Glamour is fuel efficient.</p>

<p>Like its predecessor, the new <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/hero/glamour/">Glamour</a> is available in two variants - Carburetor and Fuel injection (FI). According to Hero MotoCorp, the new Glamour's carb variant's efficiency is improved by 3% and the FI by 7%. The former variant manages to do&nbsp;0-60km/h in 6.03 seconds while&nbsp;the FI does it in 5.64 seconds.</p>

<p>In terms of design, the Glamour now&nbsp;looks sharper thanks to the V-shaped headlamp, enlarged tank fairings, LED tail lights and stylish new 5-spoke alloy wheels. It gets an all new speedometer, which houses an analog dial along with a digital reading screen. The Glamour carburetor will be available in four colours -- Black with Techno Blue, Black with Sports Red, Black with Tornado Grey Metallic and Candy Blazing Red. The FI model comes in Techno Blue with Black, Black with Sports Red and Candy Blazing Red.</p>

<p>Apart from the launch of the Glamour or rather the Ignitor in Argentina, <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/bike-news/hero-motocorp-rolls-out-100-millionth-two-wheeler-108927/">Hero MotoCorp</a> have also rolled out the Hunk, Hunk Sports and Dash, a scooter.</p>
