<p>Electric two-wheeler startup Matter has postponed deliveries of its first motorcycle, the Aera, in India. The shipment will now begin around the festive period, instead of the first quarter of 2024 as initially planned. It will start from Ahmedabad and progress in stages. Matter asserts that multiple upgrades made to the motorcycle have contributed to the delay in delivery. These include a revised 4-speed transmission for easier shifts and more efficient regenerative braking and an upgraded cooling system for increased thermal efficiency.</p>

<p>The Matter Aera EV comes in two variants: 5000 and 5000+, priced at Rs 1.74 lakh and Rs 1.84 lakh, respectively (both ex-showroom). It is an in-house developed and designed electric motorcycle that gets a four-speed sequential manual transmission (first in its class). It has a range of around 125 kilometres on a single charge and a 0 to 60km/h acceleration time of 6 seconds.</p>

<h2>Matter Aera: Key Features</h2>

<p>The Matter Aera has a streetfighter and sporty look aimed toward young buyers. It comes with a split-seat design, curved side panels and tank, and an LED headlamp. The motor and battery are tucked between the trellis frame, which is slightly visible.&nbsp;The Matter EV rolls on alloy wheels. It is available in five colour options: Cosmic Blue, Cosmic Black, Nord Grey, Blaze Red, and Glacier White.</p>

<p>The electric vehicle is outfitted with a 10KW motor and a 5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It is the first to use a liquid cooling system. With the bike, Matter offers three riding modes: sport, city, and eco. In terms of features, the electrified motorcycle gets a fully digital instrument console with smartphone connectivity for calls, message alerts, navigation, and riding data. Other notable amenities include OTA updates and keyless operation.</p>

Matter Aera Electric Motorcycle Deliveries Postponed in India

The deliveries of Matter Aera EV have once again been delayed in India owing to some updates. The EV comes in two variants: 5000 and 5000+, priced at Rs 1.74 lakh and Rs 1.84 lakh, respectively (both ex-showroom).

<p>Recently, the Fame-II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) subsidy for electric two-wheelers was significantly lowered from 40 per cent to 15 per cent, leading to a&nbsp;substantial increase in their prices. And owing to&nbsp;revised Fame-II&nbsp;subsidies, Matter&nbsp;has joined the bandwagon and upped the prices of the Aera, its&nbsp;first electric-geared&nbsp;motorcycle&nbsp;in India, by Rs&nbsp;30,000. While the new amendment will come into effect from June 1 this year, a Gujarat-based EV start-up has announced a limited-time offer on its&nbsp;electric motorcycle. With the offer, the Aera bike carries a&nbsp;price&nbsp;of&nbsp;Rs 1.44 lakh, only if the bike&nbsp;is pre-booked before June 6. <p>Under the Fame-II subsidy scheme, the&nbsp;Ministry of Heavy Industries capped&nbsp;the electric two-wheeler subsidies&nbsp;at Rs 10,000 per kWh of battery capacity. That is why, the&nbsp;maximum incentive available for the Aera electric is Rs 22,500. Earlier, the bike qualified for a&nbsp;maximum subsidy of Rs 60,000, all credit goes to its large&nbsp;IP67-rated 5kWh battery pack.&nbsp;In addition, the company has announced a delay in the deliveries of the Aera motorcycle. Now, the Aera will arrive&nbsp;in September 2023.&nbsp;</p>
