<p>Coming to the heart of the matter, the engine on the Superveloce 98 Special Edition houses two additional cylinders and displaces 798cc similar to the standard version. The 798cc, in-line, three-cylinder engine is capable of belting out 145bhp at 1,300rpm, while the new motorcycle gets a claimed top speed of 240km/h. The Italian motorcycle maker has also given the special edition bike titanium intake, exhaust valves, a counter-rotating crankshaft, and engine-bearing shells,&nbsp;thereby helping the vehicle&nbsp;perform better. Thanks to the lightweight 798cc engine, the motorcycle tips the scales at 173 kilograms (dry weight), and with the racing kit, it can be reduced to 165 kilograms.</p>

MV Agusta has announced a special, limited-edition Superveloce 98 motorcycle to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the original MV 98. Unveiled for the international market, the bike will be limited to 300 units.

<p>The Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) is the governing body for the MotoGP, the world's top motorcycle racing competition. It is one of the longest-running racing world championships, having debuted a full year before Formula One in 1950. The purpose-built prototype motorcycles used in these races are a big part of what makes them so thrilling to fans across the globe. They were all purpose-built with one thing in mind: victory in racing competitions. Always trying to go a step ahead of the competition for the current season, they create in secret. Because of this air of intrigue and single-mindedness, they are undeniably hip and dramatic in a way that no homologation special could ever achieve. Giacomo Agostini, Mick Doohan, Valentino Rossi, and most recently Marc Marquez have all dominated the MotoGP title, but their motorcycles are just as good. So, without further ado, these are the legendary MotoGP motorcycles.</p>

<h2>MV Agusta 500s</h2>

<p>Giacomo Agostini rode an MV Agusta to seven straight world championships from 1966 and 1972, making the 500 perhaps the most spectacular motorbike the company has ever produced. The 500 Three had its start in racing in the 1966 Dutch TT, and its name comes from the capacity and cylinders of its engine. MV Agusta was the first manufacturer to employ a four-valves-per-cylinder configuration on its engine, making it more powerful than any other motorcycle available at the time.</p>

<h2>Suzuki RG500 Gamma</h2>

<p>A key player in Suzuki's history of producing some of the world's fastest bikes is the RG500 Gamma. The 1981–1984 development run of the two-stroke MotoGP prototype saw victories in the world championships from Marco Luchinelli and Franco Uncini. It had a 498cc liquid-cooled two-stroke four-cylinder engine with a twin-crank square-four arrangement, capable of producing 118bhp, and a lightweight aluminium chassis.</p>

<h2>Honda NSR500</h2>

<p>From the 1980s until the conclusion of the 500cc era, the Honda NSR500 was Yamaha's main rival in the top class of the MotoGP. Alex Criville, Freddie Spencer, Wayne Gardner, Mick Doohan, Eddie Lawson, and Valentino Rossi all won championships while riding the NSR500, Honda's V4 prototype, towards the conclusion of the 500cc era. The NSR500 also won a total of 132 races.</p>

<h2>Honda RC211V</h2>

Over the course of five years, the RC211V has taken home three rider championships and four manufacturer championships, as well as 58% of the races in which it competed. It was incredibly competitive with any rider because of its superb rideability and seamless power delivery.</p>

<h2>Yamaha YZR-M1</h2>

<p>The 921 S concept bike has been officially revealed by&nbsp;the Italian company <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/mv-agusta/">MV Agusta</a>. The concept will be powered by a&nbsp;Euro-5 compliant&nbsp;liquid-cooled, 921cc inline-four engine, producing 115bhp and&nbsp;116.5Nm of torque. The latest concept has a torque specification similar to the&nbsp;Brutale&nbsp;1000&nbsp;naked&nbsp;bike. The parts of the new concept bike will be sourced from Brembo and Ohlins, meaning similar to other models in the lineup, the hardware quality of the&nbsp;921 S concept will also be robust. By the middle of 2024, the company intends to start production of the model.</p>

<p>Instead of keeping&nbsp;the 4.5-inch touchscreen TFT dash above the headlight as customary, the manufacturer has kept it on the tank.&nbsp;Further, instead of the clip-ons that are often seen on a cafe racer, the low, tapered handlebar on the model, is a single piece.</p>

<p>MV Agusta has also thrown light on its new&nbsp;Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro retro sportbike. It will be a limited-edition variant. The Superveloce 1000 will share an engine similar to&nbsp;MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR,&nbsp;a 998cc inline-four engine that can produce&nbsp;205bhp at 13,000rpm &amp;116.5Nm of torque at 11,000rpm. It has also taken cues from the&nbsp;Brutale 1000 RR for&nbsp;electronic rider aids,&nbsp;suspension and braking hardware, and others. The new model will have a&nbsp;six-speed gearbox along with a bi-directional quick shifter.</p>

<p>The&nbsp;Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro has taken inspiration from the other MV models, namely the 1972 50cc GP race bike for&nbsp;winglets. Additionally, the under-seat pipes share a resemblance with the ones on the F4 superbike.&nbsp;</p>

MV Agusta reveals 921 S Concept & Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro

Be it the 921 S concept bike or the Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro, the touch of other MV models can be seen in both models. The brand is set to start production of the 921 S concept bike in mid-2024.

<p><strong>The top of the line MV Agusta F3 is here. The Italian motorcycle maker likes to call it the F3 RR, which gets its fair share of updates on the inside and outside!</strong></p>

<p>Earlier this year, MV Agusta updated its motorcycle lineup to meet the Euro 5 norms. <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/bike-news/2021-mv-agusta-f3-rosso-unveiled-109516/">The 2021 MV Agusta F3 Rosso was unveiled in May</a>, and now the Italian exotic motorcycle maker has gone ahead and showcased the more aggressive, hi-tech, and up-to-date 2022 F3 RR, right after World Supersport Championship announced the entry of the 800cc triple-cylinder and 900cc parallel-twin into their ranks. The new 2022 F3 RR fits right in the sweet spot.</p>

<p>The first thing to notice on the 2022 MV Agusta F3 RR is the aerodynamic kit. The faring gets air ducts on both sides, which help&nbsp;the motorcycle produce a total of 8kgs downforce at (top speed) 240km/h. The front mudguard is chiselled to direct air toward the radiator. The visor is now taller, and MV Agusta claims that the overall fairing is designed to be more slippery and reduce wind drag.</p>

<p>The chassis has been updated&nbsp;too. The engine mounting points and side plates near the swingarm pivot area have been stiffened up. This in turn offers improved torsional and lateral rigidity. The wheels are seven per cent lighter as well. MV Agusta now offers anti-slip material on the rider’s footpegs.</p>

<p>The 798cc inline-three heart of the F3 has been heavily worked. The 2022 F3 RR packs all-new fuel injectors, a clutch assembly, an improved two-way quick-shifter unit, and a reworked exhaust system. Needless to say, the motorcycle complies with the Euro 5 norms. The engine produces 145bhp at 13,000rpm and 88Nm of peak torque at 10,100rpm. Now, it's a similar power output as that of the previously-showcased F3 Rosso, but the up-to-date internals will make sure that there are very limited drivetrain losses. The improved aerodynamics of the RR will also help it put the power down better, which will also improve its lap times.</p>

<p>MV Agusta also offers a race kit with the 2022 F3 RR, which bumps up its power output up to 151bhp at 13,250rpm. The higher power output is achieved by reflashing the ECU. The kit also includes an Akrapovic end-can, CNC brake, and clutch levers.</p>

<p>The electronics on the F3 RR are IMU-based traction control, wheelie control, and cornering ABS. Now, this electronic package is all-new for the F3 RR and has been supplied by e-Novia. There is a 5.5-inch instrument cluster, which comes equipped with Bluetooth connectivity as well.</p>

<p>The price for the 2022 F3 RR starts at around Euro 22,000 (approximately Rs 19 lakh). The deliveries of the new supersport will commence by Q1 of 2022 in the international market.</p>

2022 MV Agusta F3 RR unveiled

The top of the line MV Agusta F3 is here. The Italian motorcycle maker likes to call it the F3 RR and it gets its fair share of updates on the inside and out! Read more to find out about the new 2022 MV Agusta F3 RR.

<p><em><strong>The middle-weight street naked Brutale has been updated for the model year 2021. The Brutale now offers reworked mechanicals, an updated feature list, a top-spec electronic suite, and a Euro 5 compliant engine.</strong></em></p>

<p>Joining MV Agusta’s Euro 5 line-up is the 2021 Brutale 800 RR, which gets a few mechanical tweaks to make it comply with the Euro 5 emission norms and a few feature updates. The Brutale RR has the same 798cc in-line three-cylinder engine as the standard motorcycle, but for the MY21 update, it gets a reworked six-speed gearbox with revised ratios and a new-generation quick-shifter. The power and torque ratings stand at 138bhp at 12,300rpm and 87Nm at 10,250rpm, which is 30bhp more than that of the Brutale 800 Rosso variant.</p>

<p>The cycle parts include front up-side-down forks sourced from Marzocchi and rear Sachs mono-shock absorber. <p>MV Agusta has now equipped the Brutale 800 RR with a 5.5-inch TFT screen for instrumentation and other necessary read-outs. The screen can be controlled via a toggle switch, which comes with new switchgear. The screen can also be connected to the rider’s smartphone. Also, the unit features turn-by-turn navigation. <p>In terms of styling, the bike has seen minimal changes. The exhaust system now sports subtle design tweaks to accommodate the hardware necessary to make the drivetrain compliant with the emission norms. The rest of the design stays the same, i.e. it still has those sharp cuts and lines to make the motorcycle look aggressive.</p>

<p>The Brutale has been launched in the international market for €17,000 (approximately Rs 15.06 lakh). It was reported that MV Agusta could restart its India operations with a new partner in the BS6 era; however, there has been no development in that space yet. <p><em>Well, it’s Italian – so it’s a looker! But what’s it like being on the saddle of the incredibly beautiful <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/mv-agusta/">MV Agusta</a> F3 800?</em></p>

<p>Everyone loves superbikes – that’s just a fact! The raw power and the character they exude is intoxicating. But try translating that into real world conditions, and they quickly become the most unforgiving and impractical machines on the planet. And the reason for that is that they’re completely track focused.</p>

<p>So what if there was a way to combine that performance with an element of liveability? Nope, we haven’t been out in the sun too long. And, yes, one has to make some sacrifices – but not too many as it turns out. To start with, what you ought to consider is – instead of opting for a litre bike – try an 800cc one that boasts of 148bhp and weighs merely 173kgs (dry). Nope this isn’t the sunstroke talking, I’m talking about the MV Agusta’s F3 800.</p>

<p>The first words that came to my mind were ‘Mamma Mia’ when I twisted the F3’s throttle. It was raring to go and made no qualms about wanting to hit the three-figure mark almost instantly. This liquid-cooled three-cylinder 798cc engine is quite rev happy, despite having slightly taller gear ratios, and it builds power very easily indeed. The engine’s mid-range performance is impressive, and it’s here that you can actually feel the ponies gathering some real pace. And this blistering turn of speed really does make you wonder – does one really need a litre motorcycle? But, at low speeds, the engine starts to feel restless and begins to grumble. The 800cc motor retains a 79.0mm bore diameter from the F3 675, but the stroke has been increased to accommodate the bigger displacement. Accordingly, the redline has been reduced to 13,500rpm (from 15,000).</p>

<p>Based on the steel trellis frame of the F3 675, the 800 is designed to take corners like no one’s business. As it’s so light that the F3 puts you at ease immediately, and lets you determine whatever line through a corner that you desire. As a result, you can take a tight line in and power out with a clear view of the road ahead. The F3 provides such unprecedented stability that it actually surprises you with its cornering speeds. And, as you get hard on the power, you expect the front wheel to lift – but the F3’s counter-rotating crank ensures that it always stays firmly rooted to the road. How is this possible? Well, it’s quite simple really. The crank basically rotates in the reverse direction to the wheels, which reduces the chance of an accidental wheelie. The torque produced by the crank actually pushes the front wheel down. This technology is also used in Moto GP.</p>

<p>The F3 is as manoeuvrable as it is due to the superb set up of the chassis and suspension – not to mention the fact that the three-cylinder engine weighs just 52kgs. But, even though the Marzoochi forks are fully adjustable, the set up is a little on the stiff side. Our advice would be to know the roads before you open the throttle, and go easy on the bumps as it may even throw you off the saddle if you’re not careful. After all, let’s not forget that this is a serious sports bike.</p>

<p>The F3 800 is, of course, packed with electronics. It comes with four riding modes – Sport, Normal, Rain and Custom. In Custom mode, the rider can set parameters such as ‘Gas Sensitivity, Engine Brake, Maximum Torque, Engine Response, and RPM Limiter.’ The F3 also gets an eight-stage traction control system and uses higher spec Brembo Monoblocs compared to the 675, which provide far superior stopping power.</p>

<p>Being an Italian motorcycle, with design influenced by the legendary Massimo Tamburini – also known as the ‘Michelangelo of motorbike design’ – we thought it better to just let the photos do the talking, rather than attempting to describe what sheer beauty looks like.</p>

<p>All told, the F3 800 is quite an easy natured sports bike – which can also be a firecracker. Its track mannerisms don’t hamper its performance in real world conditions too much – apart from the stiff suspension setup that is. The riding stance initially can be a bit challenging, as the seat is high while the handlebars remain quite low. As you get used to the bike though, you realise how this riding posture makes it easy for you to lean into corners while taking on the twisties. Let’s not forget, though, that this is a sports bike – so do expect some weight on the wrists. The 800cc motor, meanwhile, not only has smooth acceleration – but it also has a soundtrack that is sheer music to the ears. And so the F3 800 definitely makes you feel special, but with a Rs. 16.78 lakh (Ex showroom) price tag, it will remain the preserve of very few!</p>
