Tork Motors has rolled out an attractive&nbsp;discount of Rs 37,500&nbsp;on the Kratos R electric motorcycle, reducing its price from the usual asking price of&nbsp;Rs 1.87 lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India). However, the discounted price is applicable for a limited time, only for the month of March 2024. Having said that, the bike remains the same in terms of design, powertrain, features, and more.&nbsp;&nbsp;

<h2>Tork Kratos R: Powertrain</h2>

A 4kWh lithium-ion battery pack comes linked to a&nbsp;9kW (12bhp) axial flux motor. This setup is&nbsp;rated for an IDC-claimed range of&nbsp;180km (Eco+ mode). In 2023, the Pune-based EV manufacturer <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/bike-news/tork-kratos-r-gets-new-eco-mode-which-extends-range-up-to-180-km-114989/">updated its flagship&nbsp;motorcycle with a new riding mode: Eco+</a>, which is said to yield over a 150-kilometre range on a single charge. This number is higher than the earlier range of 120 kilometres. However, the top speed is marked at 35km/h. In Sport mode, the Kratos R can reach 105km/h. Tork Motors, the Indian EV&nbsp;manufacturer, has recently introduced a new riding mode in its flagship electric motorcycle, the Kratos R. With this addition, the firm&nbsp;claims that the Kratos R&nbsp;will now have a longer battery life. Apart from this, by using the e-bike's Eco+ mode, Kratos R owners, both new and old, can now get more than 150-kilometre&nbsp;of range on a single charge. This is significantly closer to the model's IDC-claimed range of 180-kilometre&nbsp;and substantially greater than the prior range of 120-kilometre. In addition to the Eco+ mode,&nbsp;the Kratos R also&nbsp;offers three other modes- Eco, City, and Sport. Also on offer is&nbsp;an additional reverse mode to ensure hassle-free parking.&nbsp;It is further important to note that the top speed of the bike when&nbsp;in Eco+ mode, is restricted to 35km/h. This makes the bike suitable for city riding conditions.&nbsp;

<h2>Tork Kratos R: Price Range and Other Details</h2>

In our domestic market, the current price of the Tork Kratos R starts at Rs 1.67 lakh (ex-showroom, after FAME-II subsidy).&nbsp;Early in 2022, Tork Motors launched&nbsp;the Kratos in standard and R versions. The company, however, has only listed for sale the R variant, which has higher specifications. The standard model, which had a price tag of&nbsp;Rs 1.32 lakh at launch, featured comparable specifications but lacked a few amenities and had a marginally lower motor output and top speed.&nbsp;The Kratos' manufacturing and availability were constrained at the time because Tork&nbsp;built it at a small facility on its own. Under a contract manufacturing agreement, Tork moved Kratos production to the Chakan facility of the main collaborator Bharat Forge in March 2023. The&nbsp;factory has a 60,000-unit annual production capacity&nbsp;that may be increased to 1 lakh units annually.

Tork Kratos R Gets New Eco Mode Which Extends Range up to 180 Km

<h2>Tork Kratos R Urban Variant: Features Onboard</h2>

For the first 30 days following purchase, Tork is providing an extensive&nbsp;feature package on the Kratos R Urban trim free of charge. Reverse mode, vehicle locator, fast charging, in-app navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, ride analytics, anti-theft system, geofencing, charging point location, OTA updates, guide me home lights, and more are present. Moreover, three solid colour schemes are available for the motorcycle- Streaky Red, Oceanic Blue, as well as Midnight Black. A home charging setup will be offered as standard.&nbsp;

Buyers can opt to retain all of the&nbsp;features by paying an additional Rs 20,000, which is approximately the price difference between the top-of-the-line Kratos R and the Kratos R Urban.&nbsp;However, customers have to shell out the difference within six months of the purchase.

<h2>Tork Kratos R Urban Variant: Mechanical Specs</h2>

The newly-launched Urban variant shares a 4kWh lithium-ion battery pack with the Kratos R and is mechanically identical to it. Its continuous output stands at&nbsp;6bhp. The catch is that the bike will only have one ride mode (City) after a month of ownership, with a limited top speed of 70km/h&nbsp;and a range of 100km.

Tork Kratos R Urban Variant Launched in India at Rs 1.67 Lakh

Indian electric bikemaker Tork Motors recently launched the Kratos-R electric motorcycle in a new variant, called Urban. Priced at Rs 1.67 lakh, it is the brand's entry-level model. The Urban version is intended for regular city commutes. The bike will come with a "City" ride mode only.

The Ministry of Heavy Industries has reduced the FAME-II subsidy, which would increase the price of electric cars.&nbsp;The maximum amount of subsidies available for electric two-wheelers has been reduced from 40 per cent to merely 15 per cent. Electric two-wheeler subsidies have been lowered from Rs 15,000 to Rs 10,000 per kWh of battery capacity. Beginning on June 1, 2023, the new amendment will be in effect.&nbsp;To put things into perspective, the Ather 450X Pro Pack's price tag was previously lowered to Rs 55,500, making it Rs 1.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). With the new regulations in place, this subsidy will instead be reduced to Rs 37,000. The remainder of the electric bikes and scooters sold in the Indian market will see a similar outcome.&nbsp;It is important to note that in order to qualify for the subsidy, any two-wheeler must match the criteria set forth. These requirements include an 80 kilometre minimum range, a peak speed of at least 40km/h, and a certain degree of localisation. There is also an extra subsidy provided by several state governments. These, however, differ from state to state.

<h2>Here's What the Industry Has to Say</h2>

Few well-known figures in electric two-wheeler&nbsp;operations have responded to the government's decision to reduce incentives, albeit the majority of manufacturers have not yet done so.&nbsp;In response to the news, Tarun Mehta, co-founder of Ather Energy, tweeted that the industry "must stand on its own feet very soon" as a result of the subsidy cut. Mehta cited a tweet from Ather's official account on the site that stated pricing for the 450X might increase by as much as Rs 32,500 starting on June 1.&nbsp;

Further, Vivekananda Hallekere, CEO of Bounce, also posted on Twitter, calling the drop in subsidies "a great move" since he thinks the programme wasn't "logical" in its current form and that producers were being "incentivised to be inefficient." Significantly, electric two-wheelers with smaller batteries, like the Bounce Infinity E1, would have a much lesser fall in subsidy amount; the greatest subsidy available for it up to this point was Rs 28,500.

<h2>Price Impact on&nbsp;Range-Topping Models</h2>

Due to their large battery packs, premium models from producers like Ola Electric, Ather Energy, Tork Motors, and Hero MotoCorp (Vida), which previously qualified for an incentive of up to Rs 60,000, will now be eligible for a maximum incentive of Rs 22,500, which is less than half of what was previously offered. Their prices are therefore anticipated to increase significantly as a result.&nbsp;

The subsidy for the Ather 450X, which has so far been eligible for an incentive of up to Rs 55,000&nbsp;would decrease by about Rs 32,500. Ola's S1 and S1 Pro would receive subsidy cuts of Rs 22,000 and Rs 37,000, respectively. The Hero Vida V1's incentives have been reduced by Rs 28,500 to Rs 37,500, while Tork's Kratos R will also see a cut in subsidies of Rs 37,500. The TVS iQube and the Bajaj Chetak, two models with comparably smaller batteries, would see a reduction in their subsidies of Rs 28,500 and Rs 22,500, respectively.

It is yet unknown if companies would immediately increase prices for buyers in order to pass on the whole subsidy cut. The majority of manufacturers, especially start-ups, will inevitably be forced to pass on a significant portion of the vehicle's price that was previously covered by incentives to the end buyer, which could be anywhere between Rs 15,000 and Rs 30,000, depending on the model and manufacturer, as input costs have only increased over the last 24 months and battery prices have not decreased. Sales of electric two-wheelers are anticipated to reflect this nationwide and to slow down as a result during the next months.

Tork has also revealed the Kratos R which is essentially a more powerful and expensive version of the standard Kratos. Thus we shall be keeping the sportier Kratos R out of the comparison for now.

Powertrain

The peak power of the Kratos is marginally higher, however, the continuous power output of both the electric scooters are closely matched. However, it is the newer Tork Kratos which has a slight advantage over the RV400.

As these are electric motorcycles, there is an engaging amount of torque available. That said, the Revolt RV400 is the one with a 50Nm torque output, which is higher than the most sportier Tork Kratos R – The Kratos R makes 12bhp and 38Nm.

Battery capacity &amp; Range

The Kratos gets a slightly larger battery than the Revolt RV400. This has also resulted in more (claimed) single-charge range of the Kratos compared to the RV400. Revolt claims that the RV400 can be completely charged from 0-100 per cent in 4.5 hours. The Tork Kratos also takes somewhere around the same time for a full charge.

Cycle parts

There isn’t much to discuss the components as both the motorcycles are kitted out in a similar manner. Both the Kratos and the RV400 get 17-inch wheels and both the bikes use a disc brake set on with end. The Revoll RV400 gets up-side down forks, whereas, the Tork Kratos gets conventional forks. The bigger battery pack of the Kratos has also contributed in the motorcycle’s kerb weight, making it substantially heavier than the RV400.

Pricing

The Fame-II initiative and state subsidy have reduced the price of the Tork Kratos to Rs 1.02 lakh (ex-showroom). However, this price is valid only in Delhi and different cities of India offer different amounts of subsidies.

The Revolt RV400 is priced at Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom) which is higher than the price of the Tork Kratos. Interestingly, the RV400 is more expensive than the Kratos R which is priced at Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Tork Kratos vs Revolt RV400: spec comparison

If you’re in the market for an affordable EV, but, the variety of scooters which are on sale are not to your taste. There was only one option, the Revolt RV400 until the Tork Kratos arrived.

Better late than never, right? Tork has finally made its debut with two motorcycles. But what if the motorcycles would have been launched six years ago when Tork made its first appearance?

Tork has finally launched its all-electric motorcycle, dubbed the Kratos. After six years of development, Tork motors has launched the Kratos in two variants – the standard Kratos and the Kratos R. So let us take a quick look at what the Tork Kratos and the Kratos R are all about.

Here are the top five highlights of the new Tork Kratos and the Tork Kratos R.

Pricing

The Tork Kratos has been priced at Rs 1.92 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Tork Kratos R demands Rs 2.07 lakh (ex-showroom); however, these prices do not include the FAME-II subsidy. The FAME-II initiative will bring down the prices of the two new Tork motorcycles substantially. With a cut of Rs 60,000, the effective prices of the Kratos and the Kratos R come down to Rs 1.32 lakh and Rs 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.

State subsidy

State subsidies have further reduced&nbsp;the prices of the Tork Kratos and Kratos R. In Pune, the Kratos and the Kratos R will cost you Rs Rs 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 1.23 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The pricing in Delhi will start from Rs 1.03 lakh (ex-showroom)

Tork Kratos spec sheet

The Kratos is powered by a 7.5 kW motor, which delivers 10bhp and 28Nm torque. The power is sourced by a 4kWh battery pack. This model tops out at 100km/hr and does a 0 – 40km/hr run in under 4 seconds. The claimed range of this battery and motor setup is 180km; however, Tork agrees&nbsp;that the real-world range should be close to 120km.

The sportier Kratos R

The more powerful Kratos R features the same 4kWh battery pack, which powers its 9kW motor. The motorcycle puts out 12bhp and 38Nm of torque – 10Nm more than the standard variant. The Kratos R can hit the 40km/hr mark 0.5 seconds sooner than the standard model and has a higher top speed of 105km/hr. Other and the higher power output, the Kratos R is identical to its standard variant in terms of mechanicals.

Both the motorcycles get a fast charger, which replenishes the battery from 0 to 80 per cent in one hour. The firm is also offering free charging to its customers for the next two years.

Cycle parts

The motorcycles are based on a trellis frame, which houses the battery and motor. The suspension components include conventional forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Both bikes ride on 17-inch wheels on both ends, and if you look closely, the alloy wheel pattern would remind you of the wheels of Bajaj’s NS series of motorcycles.

For braking, Tork has offered a disc brake setup on both ends, but the motorcycle features CBS. That being said, an ABS – at least a single-channel unit – would have been nicer.

Features

The Tork Kratos gets an all-digital instrument cluster, which features Bluetooth connectivity. The system features over-the-air updates as well. The feature&nbsp;list also includes riding modes, reverse mode, geofencing, USB charging, and an anti-theft system.&nbsp;

Rivals

The main rival to the Tork motorcycles is the Revolt RV400. There are other scooters in the similar segment, which are closely matched with the Tork Kratos in terms of pricing&nbsp;– the Ather 450 Plus, Ola S1, Simple One, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak, to name a few.

Six years later, the Tork T6X electric motorcycle is making an official debut, but this time, the company has dubbed the upcoming motorcycle the Kratos.

The Tork Kratos, which was popularly known as the Tork T6X, will finally make its debut on January 26, 2022. The motorcycle made its first appearance back in 2016; however, the company ran into some financial difficulties, which lead to a severe delay in its development program.

The Tork Kratos will feature an electric motor, which will push out 6kW and 27Nm. Back in 2016, Tork Motor promised a sticker price of Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom);&nbsp;however, the increased input cost and the inflation rate are likely to up the introductory price of the Kratos. Also, the subsidies in respective states of India will offer different benefits to customers across the nation.

So far, there is no confirmation if Tork Motors will commence its sales operation across the nation or in selective cities. More details on that are expected on the day of the launch, which is January 26, 2022.

The key rival to the Tork Kratos will be the Revolt RV400 electric motorcycle. Additionally, electric scooters such as the Ather 450, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 Pro, and Simple One are also some rivals to the upcoming electric motorcycle.

Tork Kratos electric motorcycle to be launched on January 26

Six years later, the Tork T6X electric motorcycle is making an official debut, but this time, the company has dubbed the upcoming motorcycle, the Kratos. Read more about the new Tork Kratos below.

Tork Motors has set up its first EV charging station in Pune. The company started work on their high-performance electric motorcycle in 2015, and the first prototype was unveiled a year later.

Prior to its first motorcycle launch, Tork Motors – a Pune based high-performance electric vehicle manufacturer – has started setting up EV charging stations in their home city. The first charging station has been set up at Café Peter’s Bund Garden outlet in Pune. The company claims that this is the first of many charging stations that they plan to install in the next few years. These charging stations have been developed in line with the standardised Bharat EV specifications that can support any electric vehicle with a GB/T plug.

Speaking at the launch of the first charging station, Kapil Shelke, Founder and CEO of TORK Motors said, ‘With the launch of our first EV charging station, we seek to drive the adoption of e-vehicles and especially electric motorcycles in India. We are excited to unveil the first public fast-charging station in our home city of Pune and consider it to be a step towards creating an easy to discover and accessible TORK Charging Network. This move is also in line with our growth plans for offering a holistic and hassle-free experience to the consumer.’

Tork Motors will soon launch their first product – the T6X – in India. Powered by a 72Ah Lithium-ion battery, the motorcycle gets a 6kW DC motor that develops 27Nm. Tork Motors claims that the T6X can achieve a top-speed of 100km/h. At the time of unveiling, the company announced that 80 per cent of the charge can be achieved within one hour and a full charge would take about 2 hours. The Tork T6X is expected to be rich in features as well. It comes fitted with disc brakes at the front and the rear, a TFT instrument cluster, ABS, and more.

Tork Motors sets up first fast charging station in Pune

Pune-based <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/tork/">Tork</a> Motors has started accepting pre-orders for its first commercial electric motorcycle T6X in India. Claimed to be in development for over seven years now, the new electric motorcycle is priced at Rs 1,24,999. In the initial phase, the motorcycle will be sold in Pune, Bangalore and Delhi.

Coming to the internals of the Tork T6X – it is powered by lithium ion batteries. The motor generates 27Nm of peak torque and weighs only 130 kilograms. It is capable of reaching to a top speed of 100 km/h. On full charge, it will have a range of 100 km. And recharging the battery pack will only take two hours – while 80% can be charged in just one hour. The battery life can last up to approximately 80,000 - 1,00,000 kilometers depending on the usage, claims the company.

Apart from being India’s first electric motorcycle, the Tork T6X comes with a number of unique features such as on board navigation, storage, cloud connectivity, full digital display, quick charge, etc. Additionally, it will connect with customer’s mobile phone through an app to communicate the health, range, service alerts and customised riding profiles. Among other highlights it gets ABS, CDS, anti-theft, geo-fencing and daytime running lamp.

The motorcycle also comes with a unique system called TIROS (Tork Intuitive Response Operating System), which analyzes and compiles data for every ride, power management, real time power consumption and range forecasts.

Sharing his thoughts on their first offering for the Indian market, Kapil Shelke, Founder &amp; Director, Tork Motors, said: “Investments in smart technology, our racing pedigree and experience with electric vehicles has enabled us to refine and enhance our overall value proposition with the T6X. &nbsp;The motorcycle can be tuned anywhere from sporty maverick to comfortable eco-cruiser at the touch of a button.
