<p>Over a month after launching the&nbsp;Daytona 660 sports bike in India, Triumph Motorcycles has commenced deliveries of the model in question.&nbsp;The bike&nbsp;is priced at Rs 9.72 lakh (ex-showroom) and is based on the same platform as the Trident 660 and the Sport 660. In the&nbsp;Daytona 660, the 660cc&nbsp;inline three-cylinder liquid-cooled engine is rated for&nbsp;95bhp at 11,250rpm and 69Nm of peak torque&nbsp;at 8,250rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, supplemented by a bi-directional quickshifter.</p>

<p>The&nbsp;Triumph Daytona 660 is a premium motorcycle with Showa suspension&nbsp;–&nbsp;upside-down&nbsp;front forks and rear monoshock&nbsp;– and&nbsp;a colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. Stopping power comes from dual&nbsp;310mm front discs and&nbsp;a single 220mm rear disc. The discs come mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in high-quality Michelin Power 6 tyres. <p>The&nbsp;Daytona 660 gets a split-type seat, measuring 810mm. It can be had with an accessory lower seat, which reduces the perch by 25mm to 785mm. It is a&nbsp;classic supersport with full fairing,&nbsp;dual LED headlamps, a central air intake, a sculpted fuel tank, and an upward-sloping&nbsp;rear section. Given that the&nbsp;clip-on handlebars are mounted above the fork tops and the footpegs seem not very high up, the rider triangle&nbsp;is relaxed and comfortable.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Daytona has the same 660cc inline three-cylinder engine as the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/triumph/trident-660/">Trident</a> and <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/triumph/tiger-sport-660/">Tiger Sport</a>.&nbsp;However, it produces more power and torque than its contemporaries, with 94bhp at 11,250rpm and 69Nm at 8,250rpm. Triumph claims that over 80% of its 69 Nm of maximum torque is available at just 3,125rpm,&nbsp;providing a sporty, snappy, fully usable performance. The redline, however, stands at 12,650rpm. The Daytona 660 tips the scales at 201kg, which is 12kg more than the Trident 660.</p>
