<p>Triumph India has slashed the price of the Speed T4 by Rs 18,000, and the model in question now costs Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The revised price is valid until the stock&nbsp;lasts and applies to all three colour options (White, Black, Red) of the model. This could be done&nbsp;to boost sales, as Triumph's 400cc models posted a&nbsp;17.41 per cent increase with just 4,005 units sold in October 2024 (October 2023: 3,408 units)&nbsp;– way less than what Triumph had expected.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Three months ago, Triumph launched the Speed T4, a new entry-level bike at an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.17 lakh. While it shares its design&nbsp;and TR-series engine with the Speed 400, the Speed T4 gets a more&nbsp;basic equipment list and cost-effective&nbsp;bias-ply tyres to have its own identity and focus on a different set of buyers. As said earlier, the Speed T4 has been styled&nbsp;very similar to the Speed 400, with&nbsp;the only&nbsp;difference being new colour schemes:&nbsp;Metallic White, Phantom Black, and Cocktail Red Wine. A&nbsp;circular LED headlamp, contoured fuel tank, single-piece seat setup, and semi-digital instrument cluster have been carried over from the Speed 400.</p>

<p>Coming to its underpinnings, the Speed T4 uses a 43mm telescopic fork rather than a&nbsp;43mm inverted fork. There is also an axially mounted front brake calliper, a cheaper handlebar, conventional mirrors, non-adjustable hand levers, and simpler&nbsp;rear brake levers. The bike rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in&nbsp;bias-ply MRF Nylogrip Zapper tyres, which measure 110/70 at the front and 140/70 at the rear.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Triumph Speed T4: Same TR-Series Engine</h2>

<p>Powering the Speed T4 is a 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine (the same as the Speed 400), which is tuned to produce&nbsp;30.6bhp at 7,000rpm and 36Nm of peak torque at 5,000rpm – a decrease of 9bhp&nbsp;and 1.5Nm when compared to the Speed 400. According to Triumph, 85 per&nbsp;cent of the torque is available at 2,500rpm. The engine comes mated to a&nbsp;six-speed gearbox.</p>

<p>Other changes are in the form of&nbsp;the deletion of a traction control system, as well as the incorporation of a mechanical cable throttle instead of a ride-by-wire throttle.&nbsp;</p>
