<p>The new Vespa GTS&nbsp;has made its debut on the global market with a larger 310cc liquid-cooled engine&nbsp;(a longer-stroke derivative of the former 278cc High-Performance Engine).&nbsp;The new powerplant contains more than 70% new components, resulting in higher performance.&nbsp;For example, the stroke of a single-cylinder now stands at 70mm, a bit higher than the previous 63mm. This raises displacement from 278cc to 310cc and output to 25bhp at 7,750rpm.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The new Euro 5+ engine is more efficient, resulting in lower fuel consumption and pollutants. Other powertrain modifications include&nbsp;injectors, cylinder inclination, starting system, and crankcase design. With all these enhancements, the GTS 310 is the most powerful Vespa ever.</p>

<p>Piaggio Vehicles has added a new member&nbsp;to its Indian lineup. Called the Vespa&nbsp;Dual, it is offered with&nbsp;two engine options - 125cc and 150cc. The Vespa Dual has a special two-tone livery and is offered in 4 dual-tone colour options, comprising&nbsp;Pearl White with Azuro Provenza &amp;&nbsp;Pearl White with Beige on the VXL range&nbsp;plus&nbsp;Pearl White with Matte Red &amp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Pearl White with Matte Black on the SXL range of scooters. Prices of the Vespa Dual start at Rs 1.32 lakh for&nbsp;VXL variants, whereas the SXL range carries a sticker price of Rs 1.37 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. Although the Vespa Dual&nbsp;dons a distinct dual-tone livery, it is similar to the standard&nbsp;VXL and SXL range&nbsp;in terms of mechanical specifications and features.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Vespa Dual series is BS6 Phase II-compliant, is E20 fuel-ready, and complies with OBD II emission norms. According to Piaggio, the Vespa Dual has now started arriving at dealerships, and it&nbsp;is available across more than 250 outlets in India.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Vespa Dual Series: Engine and Transmission</h2>

<p>The new Vespa Dual gets&nbsp;two displacement options, including 125cc and 150cc. The 125cc single-cylinder engine produces 9.7bhp of maximum power and 9.6Nm of peak torque, while the 150cc churns out 10.3bhp and 10.6Nm. The engines are connected to a CVT (continuously variable transmission).&nbsp;</p>


Vespa Dual Series Launched in India at Rs 1.32 Lakh

The Vespa Dual has a special two-tone livery and is offered in 4 dual-tone colour options. It is available in two engine options, including 125cc and 150cc. Both engines come mated to a CVT.

<p>Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. has introduced four new colours for the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/vespa/">Vespa </a>SXL variants.&nbsp;Midnight Desert, Tuscany Sunset, and Sunny Escapade are the three colour options for the limited edition Vespa SXL Sport. The standard&nbsp;Vespa SXL versions are now available in Midnight Desert and Tuscany Sunset, and the Vespa SXL Racing 60s can now be had in the Jade&nbsp;Streak colour.</p>

Vespa SXL variants get four new colours

Now Vespa SXL range can be had in a brand-new colour scheme - Midnight Desert, Tuscany Sunset, Sunny Escapade and Jade Streak. All newly introduced colours of the model will be available across the Indian market.

<p><strong>Piaggio India has launched the Limited Editions of the Vespa 125 and Vespa 150, commemorating&nbsp;the 75 years of the brand, with styling that pays homage to the Vespas of the past.</strong></p>

<p>Vespa has launched the 75th Anniversary Edition of its 125cc and 150cc scooters. The new edition Vespa 125 is priced at Rs 1.26 lakh (ex-showroom), and the limited edition Vespa 150&nbsp;costs Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom). The 75th Anniversary Edition models will retail at all authorised dealerships, but Piaggio will sell the two Anniversary Edition models&nbsp;in limited numbers. Piaggio has started accepting bookings for the scooters at a token amount of Rs 5,000.</p>

<p>The limited-edition models incorporate a few changes, which includes a new glossy metallic Giallo colour scheme. There is also a contrasting smoke grey seat and a bag. Piaggio also offers a welcome kit, which includes collectable postcards and Vintage Vespa signs.</p>

<p>There is a number ‘75’ decal on the side, and the front mudguard displays&nbsp;matt metallic pyrite colour. There is a visor up front, and the wheels get a machined finish. The scooters sport a retractable chrome rack at the rear, which reminds you of the spare wheel of the Vespas from the past.</p>

<p>The mechanicals of the new models is the same as their respective standard models. The Limited Edition Vespa 125 gets a 125cc motor, which is good for 9.7bhp at 7,500rpm and a 9.6Nm peak torque at 5,500rpm. The 150cc model pushes out 10.2bhp at 7,600rpm and 10.6Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. Both scooters use a CVT. The braking and suspension units are identical to the standard models as well. The 125 gets a combined braking system, which the 150 benefits from ABS.</p>

<p>Piaggio India has partnered up with OTO Capital to offer leasing options on Vespa and Aprilia range of scooters in Pune and Bangalore. According to Piaggio, the new leasing option offers customers a 30% discount on the EMI. In addition to that, up to Rs 2,500 will be completely waived off on the first month’s subscription fee. Customers will also get the option to upgrade or own the scooter at the end of the tenure.</p>

<p>Additionally, employees of corporates who have tied-up with OTO Capital can also opt for leasing of Vespa and Aprilia scooters under the new plan. According to the company, the benefit of taking the scooters on lease will allow users to pay for the vehicle only for the number of years it’s required. Plus, they can anytime upgrade to a more premium model from Vespa or Aprilia line-up during the lease tenure.</p>

<p>Commenting on the launch of the company’s new leasing option, Diego Graffi, Chairman and MD, Piaggio India, said, “We welcome the partnership with OTO Capital to facilitate this new model of ownership. Now, our discerning customers can enjoy interesting ownership options across our premium offerings of Vespa and Aprilia. We see flexible ownership to be a desirable new trend amongst the youth of India and we believe, Vespa and Aprilia would lead it to extend the premium experience to the aspirants.”</p>

<p>Vespa recently launched the Vespa Racing Sixties edition in the country, while the rest of the range has also been updated to meet BS6 regulations. Aprilia, too, introduced the SR 160cc range with a BS6 compliant engine late in 2019.</p>
