What they value most is practicality and convenience.</p><p>Now, it’s fair to say that many companies struggle to get this formula right. More often than not, corners are cut and compromises are made in one area or another. Enter the new Vida VX2, which, at least on paper, promises to be a well-rounded offering, delivering performance without sacrificing practicality. Naturally, I was curious to see how it would fare in real-world conditions – you know, when the rubber actually meets the road. And the results? Well, let’s just say they were definitely interesting.</p>

<p>While most electric scooters lean towards ultra-modern, almost alien designs, the VX2 takes a more conventional approach. At first glance, you wouldn’t even know that it’s an EV. The apron is curvy but not bulbous, and the colour schemes are vibrant and well executed. Plus, the lighting signature at both ends of the scooter is distinctively striking.     </p><p>The instrument cluster is a 4.2-inch colour TFT unit. It’s not a touchscreen, but gets the job done. The UI is clean and the graphics are crisp, making it easy to read at a glance. There is a joystick on the left side of the handlebar to navigate through the menus. It feels intuitive and isn’t prone to accidental inputs. While the overall build quality is impressive, the panel surrounding the switchgear could have been better.</p>







<h2>Vida VX2 Plus Top Speed - Not Getting Left Behind</h2>

<p>We tested the higher spec Plus variant of the VX2, and it had no trouble hitting 50km/h in a jiffy. Even when cruising near its top speed of 80km/h, the VX2 didn’t feel particularly strained. Apart from the standard Eco, Normal, and Sport riding modes, the VX2 also gets Boost Mode. But it needs to be enabled in the settings menu first, after which it can be engaged by quickly twisting the throttle close to maximum. Boost Mode is particularly helpful for quick overtakes while riding in Eco or Normal mode, for it allows you instant access to the full power without having to manually switch modes. Once you ease off the throttle, the scooter automatically reverts to the original mode. The swiftness with which the VX2 snaps into Boost Mode is quite impressive – I noticed virtually no lag.</p><p>

    </p><p>The VX2 also features variable regenerative braking triggered by negative throttle input, just like the Ather scooters. However, I felt that the braking force is not as strong here, and more often than not, I had to rely on the standard brakes. The brakes, however, performed well during the test, leaving me with no complaints. The suspension leans slightly on the firmer side, but it still manages to soak up most potholes and road undulations without any fuss.</p>





<h2>Vida VX2 Plus Battery and Charging - Sipping on Power</h2>

<p>The Plus variant of the VX2 comes equipped with two removable batteries, offering a combined capacity of 3.4kWh. While the claimed IDC range of 142km isn’t class-leading, it’s still a decent figure. Those looking for a scooter for city commutes and daily errands are not likely to have any problem, for the VX2 should comfortably deliver around 100km on a full charge – more than enough for most urban users.</p><p>

<p>What truly sets the VX2 apart, however, is the flexibility it offers in terms of charging. You can use a conventional charger to juice up the scooter in a little over five and half hours. Alternatively, public fast charging can get the scooter from 0% to 80% in just 62 minutes. For those living in apartment buildings without dedicated charging ports in the parking area, the VX2’s removable battery setup is simply a game-changer. You can simply pull the batteries out of the boot and plug them into a regular socket in your home. Sure it might take longer to charge but is also immensely convenient. Despite the removable battery setup, the VX2 still manages to offer 27.2 litres of underseat storage, along with an additional frunk.</p>

<h2>Vida VX2 Plus Review Conclusion - Time to Sign Up?</h2>

<p>I am genuinely impressed by what Hero has achieved with the VX2, especially in the Plus variant. It offers a good design, a usable range, decent performance, and is priced competitively. In my opinion, the Plus variant with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) is the best configuration to go for. It keeps the upfront cost manageable, and the subsequent subscription fee is also quite reasonable. Overall, the VX2 Plus ticks almost every box that matters in an e-scooter, making it one of the most well-rounded options available on the market right now.</p><p>

<p>Hero MotoCorp’s electric arm, Vida, has finally launched the much-anticipated VX2 electric scooter in India, with two pricing options. The first is a popular Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan, which brings the starting price of the EV down to Rs 59,940 for the base Go variant.&nbsp;Under the BaaS plan,&nbsp;the Hero Vida VX2 offers&nbsp;an estimated running cost of Rs 0.96 per kilometre. As a part of the subscription, Vida guarantees a free battery replacement if its performance dips below 70%.&nbsp;</p><p> The second option is an outright purchase, including the cost of batteries, which is Rs 99,490 (ex-showroom). The entry-level Go model has a&nbsp;single 2.2kWh battery and&nbsp;a range of up to 92 kilometres, while the top-spec Plus variant uses two batteries for a combined 3.4kWh capacity, enabling a range of up to 142 kilometres. Notably, both batteries are removable. They are powered by an 8.04bhp direct-drive permanent magnet motor. The top speeds stand at 70km/h for the Go and&nbsp;80km/h for the higher-spec Plus variant. Hero’s present EV lineup includes the V2 Lite, V2 Plus, and V2 Pro, but the upcoming models will likely sit below these in the pecking order, targeting cost-conscious buyers and widening the brand’s market reach.</p><p> While prices for the existing Vida scooters range from Rs 74,000 to Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom), the new offerings are expected to arrive with an even more accessible price tag. <br></p><h2>Hero MotoCorp Sales Figures: April 2025&nbsp;</h2><p>Hero MotoCorp saw a notable decline in its overall two-wheeler performance in April 2025. The company dispatched approximately 3.05 lakh units during the month, reflecting a sharp 42.76% drop compared to 5.34 lakh units in April 2024. The month-on-month numbers were also discouraging, with March 2025 reporting around 5.50 lakh units – a 44.43% decrease. However, VAHAN data paints a slightly different picture, recording 5.05 lakh internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle registrations under Hero’s name for the same period. On the domestic front, sales stood at over 2.88 lakh units – a 43.79% year-on-year decline and 43.44% lower than the previous month.<br><br>Motorcycles remained the brand’s volume mainstay, though sales dropped to 2.86 lakh units, down 42.38% YoY and 43.53% MoM. Scooter volumes fell even more sharply to 19,317 units, representing a 47.85% drop from April 2024 and a 55.04% dip from March 2025. New Hero Vida Electric Scooters Set for July 1 India Launch; Here's All You Need To Know

<p>The EICMA 2024 will kick off next week in Milan, Italy, with the press days scheduled for November 5-6. It will head to the conclusion on the 10th of the next month, the last public day of the exhibition. Hero MotoCorp and its Vida sub-brand will be attending the upcoming EICMA, and going by the latest teaser video on social media, Hero&nbsp;will unveil&nbsp;four two-wheelers including the new Vida electric scooter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While the models in question are hiding in the shadows&nbsp;– which limits what we can see&nbsp;– one of them is believed to be the Hero Xpulse 210.&nbsp;Teased last week, the new Xpulse 210 ADV will likely replace the&nbsp;Xpulse 200 4V (Rs 1.47 lakh, ex-showroom) sold in India and will command a premium over the latter. While yet to be confirmed, the Xpulse 210 is expected to get&nbsp;a more powerful 210cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine, which might make a difference in its performance. The liquid-cooled engine, mated to a 6-speed gearbox, powers the&nbsp;Karizma XMR&nbsp;–&nbsp;25bhp at 9,250rpm and 20.4Nm of peak torque&nbsp;at 7,250rpm, for your reference. Other expected bits on the new Xpulse&nbsp;include revised styling, new chassis, long-travel suspension, and dual-purpose tyres.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking of the&nbsp;Karizma XMR, Hero recently filed a design patent for the updated version of the Karizma XMR. Likely to be called the&nbsp;Karizma XMR 250, the patent image reveals a revised fairing and fuel tank design, along with&nbsp;an upside-down front suspension setup. Hero's&nbsp;new 250cc liquid-cooled motor could be plonked into the&nbsp;upcoming Karizma. We expect Hero to display this&nbsp;more powerful&nbsp;Karizma XMR 250 at the motor show.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The&nbsp;Hero 2.5R Xtunt is also expected at the EICMA 2024. Per the most recent&nbsp;patent image, the&nbsp;2.5R Xtunt will be the naked version of the&nbsp;Karizma XMR 250. The naked bike is expected to feature angular cowls, a low-slung headlight, and tubular handlebars, among other things. The engine could be the same as the&nbsp;updated Karizma.</p>

<p>The fourth model on the list might be an electric&nbsp;scooter&nbsp;from Vida. It could be either a new variant of the existing V1 scooter or a completely new EV.&nbsp;The brand currently offers&nbsp;the V1 in two variants&nbsp;– Pro and Plus. The V1 ranges from Rs 1.03 lakh to Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom, India).&nbsp;</p>

<p>As far as the Indian market goes, the said&nbsp;models could make their way here sometime in 2025. But, we do not expect them before the launch of the&nbsp;new Destini 125. Unveiled last month,&nbsp;the updated Destini 125 has a new design language, larger wheels, a fatter rear tyre, and an increased wheelbase.&nbsp;</p>
