Yamaha Aerox 155 Exterior Details

The Yamaha Aerox 155's exterior features a performance scooter design not yet seen in the Indian market. The Yamaha performance scooter does away with the traditional construction of scooters the Indian market is familiar with to make way for a more motorcycle-like spine. Meaning that the performance scooter lacks the conventional floorboard design, and instead, the rider uses footpegs on either side of the scooter. The design and stance are significantly sportier, though still neutral. The Yamaha Aerox 155's dimensions are 1980mm in length, 700mm in width and 1150mm in height.

Yamaha Aerox 155 Engine & Transmission

Underpinnings are where the Yamaha Aerox 155 truly shines. The Aerox gets a 155cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This motor shares its qualities with its sibling, the 155cc motor in the Yamaha R15 motorcycle. For transmission duties, the Aerox gets a CVT. Peak power figures for the Yamaha Aerox 155 sit slightly lower than its motorcycle sibling, at 15hp and 13.9Nm of peak torque. That said, with these power figures, the Yamaha Aerox 155 is currently the most powerful scooter available for sale in India.

An underbone section where the feet or groceries usually go on a scooter means that the Yamaha Aerox 155 handles differently than a conventional scooter. Suspension duties in the Yamaha Aerox 155 are performed by a telescopic fork on the front and twin shock absorbers on the rear. For stopping power, the two-wheeler gets a 230mm disc brake and a 130mm drum brake. Since the scooter's displacement is significantly higher than 125cc, the two-wheeler gets single-channel ABS as standard as per law.  

Yamaha Aerox 155 Features

The Yamaha Aerox 155 comes loaded with features that put this two-wheeler in a class of its own. The scooter gets a LED treatment with aggressive-looking twin-LED lights on the front, complete with DRLs. Other features include a negative LCD instrument cluster, two USB charging ports, a multi-function key slot, an external fuel-filling lid, and a side stand cut-off feature. What's more, the Yamaha Aerox 155 gets Bluetooth with Yamaha's Y-connect app that can log rides and give call and SMS alerts. However, this feature lacks turn-by-turn navigation, audio playback, and a few other features. The two-wheeler is no slouch in the storage space department either, thanks to a front storage pocket and 24.5-litres of under-seat storage.

The Yamaha Aerox 155 gets a standard variant that retails at ₹1.29 lakhs (Ex-Showroom) and in two colour schemes, Grey Vermillion and Racing Blue. The performance scooter also gets a limited-edition Monster Energy livery variant, priced at ₹1.30 lakhs (Ex-Showroom).
