Yamaha Fascino 125 Highlights
In a nutshell, the Yamaha Fascino 125 is a spruced-up version of the Fascino, but with a few tricks up its sleeves. While its silhouette remains identical to the Fascino, Yamaha has made some aesthetic modifications to distinguish it from its smaller sibling. The front-end is now dominated by a triangular headlamp with a chrome surround. In fact, Chrome surrounds are generously present all over the Deluxe variant of the scooter. Also, the Fascino 125 comes with new five-spoke alloy wheels finished in Black. The profile is quite snazzy, with a swooping tail that exudes a European appeal. The U-shaped taillamp, with embedded turn indicators, is a new addition.
A brochure-to-brochure comparison reveals that the Fascino 125 is dimensionally larger than the standard Fascino. The scooter is 1,920mm in length, 685mm in width, and 1,150mm in height. It has a ground clearance of 145mm and a kerb weight of 99kg. The fuel tank capacity, however, remains the same at 5.2 litres. Engine & Transmission
At the heart of the Yamaha Fascino 125 is an all-new BS-VI compliant 125cc single-cylinder engine, which is good for 8bhp and 9.7Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a CVT automatic transmission. Further, the engine now uses fuel-injection to comply with the stringent BS-VI emission norms. The engine also uses an AC generator for quieter starts, a start-stop system that aids in saving fuel, and an in-built side-stand cut off switch.
According to Yamaha, the Fascino 125 uses newer hardware in comparison to the Fascino 110. The Yamaha Fascino 125 new model features telescopic forks at the front and a unit swing suspension setup at the rear. The braking hardware comprises 130mm drums on both ends, as standard. The scooter has an underbone chassis. As for the tyres, the scooter comes equipped with a 90/90-12 tyre at the front and a 110/90-10 tyre at the back.
To comply with the standard safety norms, the Yamaha Fascino 125 gets CBS (Combined braking system) as standard. The instrument cluster, on the other hand, is still a retro-styled unit, with an analogue speedometer, a fuel gauge, and an odometer. The only grouse, however, is that the scooter misses out on LED lighting.
