Yamaha R15 V4 News - See all the news of Yamaha R15 V4.

The MotoGP Editions of the Yamaha R15 V4 and MT-15 are back on sale in India. These versions had quietly disappeared from the company's line-up, but Yamaha has decided to bring them back after seeing continued interest from buyers. If you were hoping for more power or new hardware, that hasn't happened. The motorcycles are the same as before, but they once again wear Yamaha's factory racing colours seen on its MotoGP machines. Alongside this update, the company has also introduced fresh colour options for the FZ range.

Yamaha R15 V4, MT-15 Bring Back The Racing Look

The biggest reason to pick these versions is their appearance. Yamaha has given both motorcycles the familiar blue-and-black Monster Energy MotoGP livery, along with racing graphics across the body panels. It is the same styling that made the earlier MotoGP Editions popular with many enthusiasts.

Also Read: Yamaha FZ Blue Flex Launched at Rs 1.24 Lakh With E20-E85 Fuel Compatibility

The Yamaha R15 V4 MotoGP Edition and MT-15 MotoGP Edition remain mechanically unchanged. The new paint scheme is the only difference from the standard models. Pricing starts at Rs 1.76 lakh for the R15 V4 MotoGP Edition. The MT-15 MotoGP Edition is available for Rs 1.77 lakh (both ex-showroom).

FZ Models Receive New Paint Options

There's something new for FZ buyers as well. Yamaha has added an Ice Storm colour to the FZ-S Fi Hybrid and a Metallic Black option to the FZ-S Fi. The Hybrid's Matte Black version also gets updated graphics, although the rest of the motorcycle remains familiar.

The updated colours don't change the pricing. The FZ-S Fi Hybrid is available at Rs 1.39 lakh, while the FZ-S Fi is priced at Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
Yamaha hasn't introduced a new motorcycle this time. Instead, it has focused on bringing back a special edition that already has its own fan base, while giving the FZ range a fresh look. For buyers who were waiting for the MotoGP Editions, the option is once again available at dealerships.

For the Indonesian market, Yamaha, the Japanese bike manufacturer, has updated the YZF-R15, its entry-level sports bike. With an extensive feature list, the sports bike is one of the best options in its category. The next-gen model packs several features such as smartphone connectivity, already available in the India-spec R15. In addition, the bike's appearance has been improved with a new all-black paint job. Other available colour options include grey/silver, grey/black, and blue. However, it is important to note that despite significant features and aesthetic updates, the bike retains its mechanical core.

2025 Yamaha YZF-R15: Features

Starting with the features, the 2025 Yamaha YZF-R15 boasts a dual-channel ABS, traction control, a slipper clutch, and a quick shifter as standard equipment. It also includes a fully digital instrument cluster that displays ride tracking, onboard diagnostics, periodic maintenance reminders, and other information apart from the vital details.

2025 Yamaha YZF-R15: Engine and Hardware

As mentioned earlier, the 2025 YZF-R15 retains the same engine as before. The bike is powered by a 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with variable valve actuation technology (VVT). The unit churns out 18.1bhp of maximum power at 10,000rpm and 14.2Nm of peak torque at 8,500rpm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.

On the hardware front, the new R15 sports a monoshock in the back and inverted telescopic forks up front. Besides this, the motorcycle has dual-channel ABS and disc brakes on both ends. The India-spec variant also includes traction control, which is absent on the Indonesian-spec model. Built on the Deltabox frame, the bike has a fuel tank capacity of 11-litre and a kerb weight of 141 kg. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.

2025 Yamaha YZF-R15 Launched Overseas with New Features and Colour Option

For the Indonesian market, Yamaha, the Japanese bike manufacturer, has updated the YZF-R15, its entry-level sports bike. The 2025 Yamaha YZF-R15 boasts a dual-channel ABS, traction control, a slipper clutch, and a quick shifter as standard equipment.

For the 2024 model year, Yamaha Motor has launched the all-new R15 V4 in Japan. The 2024 R15 V4 follows the 2024 R125, which was also recently rolled out by the premium bike manufacturer in its domestic market. While keeping the same mechanical specifications, both motorcycles gain new colour options. The fresh Black Metallic 12 paint job for the 2024 R15 V4 appears to be inspired by the bigger R7 bike. The new blacked-out components work well with the available colour option. The retail cost of the new iteration of the R15 V4 in Japan stands at 550,000 Yen (about Rs 3.07 lakh), making it nearly twice as pricey as the comparable model in India. For reference, prices for the India-spec R15 V4 start at Rs 1.81 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the Indian market does not offer the R125 for purchase.

The motorcycle is now available in an All-Black colour, which is comparable to that of its larger sibling, the R7, and has been showcased in our country on multiple occasions. Additionally, it has parts that are blacked out. Next is what the manufacturer refers to as Dark Bluish Gray Metallic. As the label implies, the bike's primary colour is Dark Blue, which is contrasted by the Neon Yellow on the wheels and the graphics all over its bodywork. Near the fairing, this colour scheme also has some silver accents. Last but not least, there is the classic Yamaha Blue and Black combo, which is also present on the R1. The Racing Blue colour choice, which combines two different Blue tones, is just slightly different from what is offered on the Indian-spec model.

2024 Yamaha R15 V4: Engine Specifications

The 2024 Yamaha R15 V4 has the same hardware and mechanical components as the current model. The popular 155cc single-cylinder, SOHC, liquid-cooled, four-valve engine with VVA system continues to power the bike. The motor is configured to deliver a maximum torque output of 14.1Nm and 18.1bhp of peak power when mated to a six-speed transmission. The bike is further equipped with an assist and slipper clutch and a bi-directional quick-shifter. Along with dual-channel ABS, the R15 V4 also has riding modes and traction control. In the 150cc segment, the majority of these features are unusual.

Yamaha R3 & MT-03 Showcased in India Ahead of December Launch

At the recently concluded MotoGP Bharat, Yamaha made the most of the spotlight as it unveiled its much-anticipated models, the new R3 and the MT-03. The R3 will be a significant addition to the Japanese manufacturer's existing range of products in India given the steady advances that the entry-level premium motorcycle market has undergone in recent years. The R3 and the MT-03 are both anticipated to make their India debuts in December this year.

Both of the upcoming bikes are powered by a 321cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that produces 29.5Nm of peak torque at 9,000rpm and a maximum power output of 41bhp at 10,750rpm. Furthermore, the soon-to-be-released versions come connected to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch.

The R3 mimics Yamaha's larger supersports, like the R7 and the R1, with a fully-faired body, a low-set clip-on, and footpegs that are positioned at the back. The MT-03, on the other hand, borrows design influences from the MT-07 and the MT-09, including a twin-LED headlamp configuration concealed beneath a sizable apron. The bike also sports a traditional muscular profile and a hefty stance. Moreover, the MT-03 adopts a sporty riding posture, much like its supersport sibling, although compared to the R3, the riding ergonomics are slightly more comfortable.

2024 Yamaha R15 V4 Launched in Japan, Gets New Colour Options

Yamaha Motor recently launched the 2024 R15 V4 in Japan, complementing the smaller R125, which is also available for purchase globally. The R15 V4 gets new colour options as part of the latest update. The mechanicals and components, however, remain the same.

Yamaha has introduced a new Dark Knight paint scheme for the R15 V4 bike. As the name suggests, the updated motorcycle is now available with a matte black base colour along with some golden bits. Yamaha is charging a premium of only Rs 1,000 for this Dark Knight edition in comparison to the Metallic Red version. With this new colour option, the R15 V4 stands at Rs 1.82 lakh (Rs 1,81,900). The manufacturer continues to offer Racing Blue and Intensity White colour options, costing Rs 1.86 lakh (Rs 1,85,900) each. All prices are ex-showroom. The recently launched colour scheme is also offered with other Yamaha models as well - the R15 V3 and the FZ.

However, the Yamaha R15 V4 is unchanged in terms of its powertrain and mechanical specification. On the design front, it retains LED lighting on the headlamp & the taillamp and features the same LED DRLs. In addition, the R15 V4 gets the same LCD instrument cluster with Track and Street display modes. Bluetooth connectivity is also a part of the package.

The Yamaha R15 V4 is suspended with the help of upside-down front forks with 37mm inner tubes, thereby providing stability and improved rigidity. For the first time in 2021 in the country, Yamaha offered the R15 V4 with inverted front forks. This feature was given a miss when the brand launched the R15 V3 model in India but was available abroad.

Yamaha R15 V4 Dark Knight Edition: Powertrain

Mechanically, the Dark Knight Edition continued to be the same as before. A 155cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled engine powers the motorcycle, delivering 18.4bhp of power at 10,000rpm and 14.2Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. The gearbox here is a 6-speed unit. The updated model continues to have an assist and slipper clutch on offer. Other mechanical bits have been carried over as well, such as dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system), a quick-shifter, and a traction control system.

Yamaha R15 V4 Dark Knight Edition: Price, Competition

The new Dark Knight Edition is priced at Rs 1.82 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes it more affordable than the Racing Blue and Intensity White versions of the R15 V4. In the Indian market, the Yamaha R15 V4 rivals the likes of the KTM RC 125, the KTM RC 200, the Bajaj Pulsar RS200, and the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250.
