Audi Q5 Special Edition launched at Rs 67.05 lakh

Audi India has launched the Q5 Special Edition today. The pricing of the latest SUV model is Rs. 67.05 lakh (ex-showroom). There are two exterior colour options available for the Special Edition: Ibis White and District Green.

<p><strong>The Audi Q5 has made a comeback, but this time the mid-size crossover SUV gets only a petrol powerplant. Other changes include a few exterior styling tweaks and in-cabin changes.</strong></p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/audi/q5/">Audi Q5</a> facelift has been launched in India at a starting price of ₹58.93&nbsp;lakh (ex-showroom) for the Premium Plus variant. The Technology variant has been priced at ₹63.77 lakh (ex-showroom). This iteration of the Q5 mainly gets some exterior cosmetic changes. The crossover-SUV is largely based on the same platform as before, and the interior&nbsp;is very similar to that of its predecessor.</p>

<p>Moving to the engine part, there is a petrol-powered 2.0-litre four-pot-turbo mill under the hood. The output is marked at 248bhp in the 5,000 – 6,000rpm range, and 370Nm of peak torque is available in the 1,600rpm – 4,500rpm band. The gearbox is a seven-speed dual-clutch auto, which forwards the power to all the wheels via Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system.</p>

<p>The new <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/audi/">Audi</a> Q5 rivals the mid-size crossover SUVs of the premium segment, which mainly includes the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mercedes-benz/glc/">Mercedes-Benz GLC</a>, BMW X3, Volvo XC60, Lexus NX, and <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/land-rover/range-rover-evoque/">Range Rover Evoque</a>.</p>

Audi Q5 facelift launched at Rs. 58.93 lakh

The Audi Q5 has made a comeback, but this time the mid-size crossover SUV gets a petrol powerplant only. Other changes include styling tweaks on the outside and retouches inside the cabin.

<p>In a bid to generate more ‘Qriosity’, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/audi/">Audi</a> has released another teaser video of the new Q5 prior to its official unveiling at the Paris Motor Show. The short 15 second video reveals that the new Audi SUV will come with optional adjustable air suspension. This is the first time that the mid-sized luxury SUV will come with air suspension and it should definitely make it quite an able off-road machine. This electronic air suspension is likely to be the same one that is also offered on the larger Q7.</p>

<p>Building up to the big debut, Audi has been sharing teaser images of the new Q5 for a while now. The first teaser image to be released was of the fully LED taillights. It was then followed by a video of the LED headlights with Daytime Running Lamps and another one detailing the large boot.</p>

<p>Audi first introduced the Q5 in 2008 but has been showing its age off late. That however is about to change as the Q5 promises to have considerable improvements over the current-gen car. Based on the MLBevo platform that also underpins the A4 and the Q7, the Q5 shred weight of around 100 kilograms. In terms of cosmetics too this new Q5 will remain in line with the sharper design language that Audi now follows (Read: swollen hexagonal grille, virtual cockpit, new MMI interact, et al).</p>

<p>The 2017 <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/audi/q5/">Audi Q5</a> will likely hide the same engine set as the recently launched A4. Turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and diesel motors along with an option of a more powerful V6. The new Q7 will get the Audi Quattro system as standard but may also come with a front-wheel drive version. Although, details of the car are scattered currently, we shall know more when Audi presents the new 2017 Q5 to the press on 29 September.</p>
