The defect is said to cause an internal failure, potentially stranding the driver, that is under rare circumstances. Audi has not yet confirmed if models in India have also been affected.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Models manufactured between 2019 and 2021 carrying the V6 petrol engine have been affected by the issue. <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/audi/" target="_blank">Audi</a> says that the defect causes the fuel pump to get damaged due to the pressure fluctuations within the pump. This can potentially starve the engine of fuel.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While Audi has confirmed that it won’t lead to a fuel leak, the broken pieces can damage the sealing membrane of the pressure regulator. This debris can in turn restrict fuel flow to the extent that it will stall the vehicle.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the defect report, Audi states, "An inoperative fuel pump due to these conditions could result in illumination of the 'emission control system' light, rough engine running and/or an engine no start." Furthermore, the report also mentions, “However, in rare instances, an engine stall while driving could occur, increasing the risk of a crash."</p>

Audi has issued a mandatory recall of nearly 50,000 units of Q7 and Q8 SUVs that were manufactured between 2019 and 2021 due to a fuel pump issue that will potentially lead to internal engine failure.

The SUV will be a facelifted version of the second-gen model, which was sold in India before April 2020 and was discontinued due to the BS6 emission norms.</p>

<p>The Q7 will be offered with a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine, keeping in line with the VW Group’s petrol-only strategy for India. It’s good for 335bhp and 500Nm, and all that drive will be channeled via a an 8-speed torque converter (automatic) and Audi’s quattro AWD system to all four wheels. All of this means that the Q7 will be able to sprint from&nbsp;0-100km/h print in just 5.9 seconds.</p>

<p>Previously, the Q7 sold in India was the second-gen model, and what we are going to be getting now is a facelift of that. While the overall shape of the Q7 remains the same, there are several minor updates that change things quite a bit. The grille’s larger and is surrounded by a thick slab of chrome. The headlamps have been redesigned as well and get a new DRL signature. Just like the front, the tail lamps too have been revamped and so have both the bumpers and the alloy wheels.</p>

<p>The biggest changes are however found on the inside. The cabin feels all new. First up are the screens, of which, there are three.&nbsp;The digital instrument cluster is an upgraded version of the one found in the pre-facelift Q7. The infotainment touchscreen is now embedded into the dashboard, rather than sitting on top of it. It’s a crisp HD display that measures 10.1-inches diagonally. The last screen sits below that, and this is the new one. It controls features like ventilated seats, climate control and etc. This means that Audi has done away with most of the physical buttons to control many features.</p>

<p>Recently, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/audi/">Audi</a> India introduced the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/audi/q5/">Q5</a> crossover-SUV, and now, it is prepping up to bring back its full-size <a href="https://www.autox.com/suv-cars-in-india/">SUV</a>, the Audi Q7. While it may not be the flagbearer SUV for Audi anymore – the current flagship SUV is the Audi Q8 – the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/audi/q7-facelift/">Audi Q7</a> will fill in the market space between the Q5 and the Q8.</p>

<p>The Audi Q7 will make a comeback with a new fascia, some styling updates, and a revamped interior. The mechanical bits will be carried over, and the <a href="https://www.autox.com/suv-cars-in-india/">SUV</a> will only be sold with petrol engines. Of course, an addition of a plug-in hybrid system cannot be discounted.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The engine on offer is likely to be a V6 3.0-litre turbo-petrol motor, with 330bhp. A smaller 244bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder-engine could also be offered with the lower variants as well. The gearbox on offer will be an eight-speed auto, clubbed to Audi’s Quattro (all-wheel-drive) system.</p>

<p>The changes on the outside will include a new grille design and bumper design. The SUV will ride on newly designed larger 19-inch alloys. The headlamp assembly will be all-LED, and Audi will mostly offer the MATRIX lighting system. The cabin will feature four-zone climate control, Audi’s virtual cockpit, and the brand’s MMI system.</p>

<p>The 2022 Audi Q7, when launched, will be the most affordable seven-seat&nbsp;SUV in the carmaker’s portfolio. The prices are expected to start from Rs. 75 lakh (ex-showroom), although an official announcement will be held in January 2022, which is when we shall have more clarity on how many variants will Audi introduce of the facelifted Q7. The key rivals of the new 2022 Audi Q7 will be the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and Range Rover Velar.</p>

Audi Q7 facelift India launch confirmed

Audi India will soon bring back the popular Q7 to India, however, the SUV will sport a few changes on the outside, as well as, in the inside. However, The mechanicals are expected to be the same as its predecessor.
