Citroen India will launch the Basalt X on 5 September as part of its plan to grow its presence in the Indian market. Bookings are already open, and buyers can secure the new coupe-SUV by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. The Basalt X builds on the standard Basalt, much like the C3X did with the C3 hatchback. While the overall design and colour choices remain the same, a ‘Basalt X’ badge will be added to mark this variant. Practical additions such as a tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control, and an engine start/stop button will further enhance its usability and safety on the road.Power will come from the familiar 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, the same as in the standard Basalt. This engine produces 108bhp and up to 205Nm of torque, depending on the transmission option.
