<p><strong><em>Ferrari's new entry-level Portofino goes on sale in India, with an eye-watering price tag of Rs 3.5 crore (ex-showroom).</em>&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p>Ferrari's all-new drop-top GT has finally reached the Indian shores. Launched in Delhi, this new entry-ticket to the Ferrari brand has had all of us on our toes ever since we went to Dubai to experience the car in June 2018 (<strong><a href="https://www.autox.com/reviews/car-reviews/ferrari-portofino-review-first-drive-103946/">You can read our first drive review of the Ferrari Portofino here</a>)</strong>. Despite a delayed launch in India, Ferrari is confident that the new car will still attract numerous new buyers to the brand.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While it may not be an addition to Ferrari's 'hardcore' model line-up, by no means is the Portofino a slouch. It is powered by a twin-turbo 3.9-litre V8 engine that churns out 591bhp and 760Nm of torque. All this power is transferred to the rear wheels through an F1-derived seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. 0-100km/h is done within 3.5 seconds and the top speed is in excess of 320km/h. The figures are certainly impressive for a Grand Tourer.</p>

<p>The Ferrari Portofino is much lighter than its predecessor - around 80kg - and its maker claims that the drop-top's body stiffness has improved by around 35 per cent over the California T. And to make it a more involving drive, the suspension setup of the car has been improved as well - the front and rear shockers have stiffer spring rates than before.</p>

<p>Inside, the newly launched Ferrari convertible features a 2+2 layout, but it's understood that it'll be mostly used as a 2 seater for leisure driving. The dashboard features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, and there's no dearth of features and equipment for the occupants. As for the roof, it can be&nbsp;opened or closed in just 14 seconds on the move at low speeds.&nbsp;</p>

<p>At the moment, Ferrari has two dealers in India - Delhi and Mumbai - and the Portofino will be sold exclusively from these outlets.</p>

Portofino is a stylish convertible sports car with thrilling speed and smooth
handling. It comes with a V8 engine, foldable hardtop roof, a 7-inch colour
touchscreen display with navigation, and ADAS systems. The Portofino rivals the
Porsche 911 Cabriolet and the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/aston-martin/vantage/">Aston Martin Vantage</a> for its looks and fun-to-drive
nature.</p>
