Ford Figo Editorial Review
The Ford Figo made its debut in 2015 and takes on the ever popular Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai Grand i10. Unlike the Maruti Swift, the Ford Figo does not revolutionise with its design, but it offers a solid look with an aggressive Aston Martin-ish front grille. The Figo looks very muscular with its broad shoulder strokes and pronounced creases on the bonnet and on the bumper. Coming to the rear, the Figo loses all its flair as the styling becomes quite bland. All the Ford Figo variants come with 14-inch wheels, but the top variants get the 14-inch alloy wheels. The Ford Figo is 3.8 metre in length, which translates into a spacious cabin space for five passengers. The Figo also offers plenty of legroom space for the rear passengers. All the Figo variants come in all black interiors. All Figo variants come standard with rear fog lamps. Higher end variants come packed with equipment, which includes the Ford Sync in the music system along with voice commands and satellite navigation. The Ford Figo comes loaded with safety features like 6 airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) and EBD (electronic brake force distribution), TCS (traction control system), ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and HLA (hill launch assist). The Ford Figo is also equipped with anti-theft alarm. Ford Figo comes in three engine options. Two petrol variants -- 1.2-litre petrol engine is mated with a five-speed manual gearbox, while the 1.5-litre gets a 6-speed dual clutch automatic. The Ford Figo 1.2-litre petrol has a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 18.16 km/l for the manual model and 17 km/l for the 1.5-litre automatic model. The Ford Figo diesel is powered by a 1.5-litre engine and comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Ciaz diesel has an efficiency figure of 25.83 km/l. The Ford Figo petrol versions are more focused on efficiency and therefore, have a linear power delivery and are designed to ease your commute in the city. The steering wheel is light, which makes it easy to manoeuver in crowded areas as well for parking. The diesel is the most powerful in the segment and is eager to cut down on the distance without sacrificing on the fuel economy. The Figo has a boot space of 257 litres, but the rear seats completely fold downs, which increase the luggage space. All in all, the Ford Figo is a practical, comfortable and a well equipped hatchback with a spacious cabin. It is also fully loaded with safety features.
Ford Figo Exterior Review
The Ford Figo is quite an aggressive looking hatchback thanks to its big in-your-face front grille, which looks very similar to an Aston Martin’s. The long angular headlamps makes the Ford Figo look very contemporary. The Figo now boasts of an impressive ground clearance of 174mm. The petrol and diesel versions of the Ford Figo get identical 14-inch wheels with 175/65 tyres. Only Ford Figo’s top variants come with 14-inch alloy wheels, while base and mid models get 14-inch steel wheels. Likes: Imposing front grille and ground clearance. Dislikes: Rear looks very similar to the competition.
Ford Figo Interior Review
The interiors of the Ford Figo is all black and comes across quite sporty. It’s a pity that the top variants do not come with leather option for upholstery and steering wheel. Keeping practicality in mind, the Ford Figo cabin has numerous cubby holes and stow away space. MyFord Dock lets you mount and charge your smart phone, MP3 player or navigation system that easily syncs to the car music system. The Ford Figo cabin is a very spacious one with plenty of room for five occupants. Likes: Space & practicality, Equipment Dislikes: Lacks premium feel
