<p><strong><em>Apart from updating the feature list on&nbsp;the&nbsp;S &amp; VX trims, Honda has added a new,&nbsp;mid-level 'V' variant to the WR-V's diesel line-up.</em></strong></p>

<p>Honda has decided to spruce up its compact crossover, the WR-V, by updating it with some latest features. While doing so, Honda has also added a new 'V' variant to the WR-V's diesel line-up, which it&nbsp;claims offers a decent number of premium features at a lower cost. While the top-spec&nbsp;1.5L i-DTEC VX MT is priced at&nbsp;₹ 10.35 lakh, the new&nbsp;1.5L i-DTEC V MT has been priced at&nbsp;₹ 9.95 lakh (All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).&nbsp;However, the move clearly seems to be a strategy to promote the sales of the car's diesel derivatives.</p>

<p>Coming to the new trim, customers opting for the V variant will get to enjoy premium features like&nbsp;LED DRLs &amp; position lamps, front fog lamps, turn indicator-integrated ORVMs, gunmetal finish 16-inch alloys, chrome door handles &amp; a micro antenna for the radio. Compared to the top-spec diesel VX, the V variant misses out on an electric sunroof, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a retractable key (available only with petrol VX, though). Remaining&nbsp;features like the 17.7cm touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted controls, cruise control, auto climate control, one push start/stop, etc. are also present in the V variant.</p>

<p>As for the equipment upgrades on the existing S and VX trims, the S trim now comes equipped with 16-inch gunmetal alloy wheels, auto climate control, fog lamps, speed-sensing auto door lock, retractable key, one-touch window operation &amp; the now-mandatory&nbsp;safety features like rear parking sensors, front passenger seat belt reminder &amp; a high speed warning alert. The safety features, along&nbsp;with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, speed-sensing auto door lock &amp; vanity mirrors for both front passengers comprise the updated features list on the VX trim.</p>

<p>The new features will be available with both petrol &amp; diesel engine options.</p>

Honda WR-V gets a new diesel mid-variant & feature upgrades

Honda has added a new 'V' variant to the WR-V's diesel line-up. The top-spec 1.5L i-DTEC VX MT is priced at ₹ 10.35 lakh,  while the new 1.5L i-DTEC V MT has been priced at ₹ 9.95 lakh (All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).

<p>Within its first year of launch, Honda Cars India Ltd. has sold 50,000 units of the WR-V in India. This accounts for 28% of sales for Honda in the 2017-18 financial year.</p>

<p>Yoichiro Ueno, President &amp; CEO, Honda Cars India Ltd., said: “This is a very proud moment for us. Honda WR-V has witnessed great success in the Indian market and the 50,000 sales milestone validates its strong presence. It has emerged as a strong volume model in Honda’s model line-up striking the right chord among young urban customers who are looking for status, comfort and have an active lifestyle.”</p>

<p>Demographically, the WR-V is most popular in Tier 1 cities which contribute to 38% of its sales as claimed by Honda. While Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities contribute to 30% and 32% respectively. Regionally, the northern part of India is the largest contributor to the sales of the&nbsp;product with 30% of its sales coming from this region. Western, Eastern and Southern parts of India contribute 28%, 15% and 27% respectively to its sales numbers.</p>

<p>The Honda India calls the WR-V a premium Sporty Lifestyle Vehicle and launched it in March 2017. The WR-V competes with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, <a href="https://www.autox.com/reviews/car-reviews/tata-nexon-review-first-drive/">Tata Nexon</a>, Ford EcoSport and the Hyundai i20 Active.</p>

<p>The WR-V is offered in India with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder i-DTEC turbo diesel engine which develops 98bhp and 200Nm of torque. This diesel engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Additionally, the WR-V is also offered with a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, i-VTEC petrol engine with a 5-speed manual. This powertrain setup can generate 88bhp and 110Nm of torque.</p>
