Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross Highlights
The D-Max V-Cross is not just the entry ticket to the Isuzu brand in India, but it is also the only lifestyle pick-up truck in our market. For those of you who may not know, a pick-up truck is a light-duty truck with an open cargo area in the back.
While it has been on sale for quite some time, the company revisited the V-Cross in 2019 with a bunch of nice-to-have updates and the option to equip it with an automatic gearbox. Let’s take a look.
Ever since its inception, the D-Max V-Cross has only undergone minor facelift upgrades. So, while it is still based on the same platform and still carries over the same styling from back in the day, a bunch of updates has helped Isuzu make the most out of its aging design.
The main giveaway for the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross new model is those new LED projector headlamps replete with LED DRLs at the front. Talking about the front, the bumper has also been revisited with a few changes. In profile, the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross price now gets you new 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and a blacked-out B-pillar. The only noticeable changes at the rear are the new LED taillamps and a chrome garnish on the rear bumper.
The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross variants, namely, are Standard, High (Z), and Z Prestige. As said above, the top-end variant includes LED projector headlamps with DRLs, LED taillamps, and dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels.
Moreover, you get a touchscreen infotainment system, which sadly misses out on both Apple Carplay and Android Auto, climate control, steering-mounted audio controls, cruise control, leather upholstery, electrically-adjustable driver’s seat, six airbags, ESP, traction control, hill-descent control, hill-start assist, a reverse camera, a new MID, keyless entry and go.
With the addition of the abovesaid features, Isuzu has really upped the ambience of the V-Cross’ interior. That said, the leather upholstery works great, the steering is also wrapped in leather and it houses all the essential controls. It also gets a new and informative MID. Taking the centre stage is a 7.0-inch touchscreen unit, which is slick and also doubles up as a display for reverse camera feed. Unfortunately, it misses out on both Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
Engine Specifications & Performance
The D-Max V-Cross features two diesel engines. The entry-level variants are specced with a 2.5-litre oil burner, which is good for 132bhp and 320Nm of torque. It only comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
For an insignificant bump in Isuzu D-Max V-Cross on-road price, you can now also grab this pick-up truck with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It is, on the other hand, only available with a 1.9-litre diesel, which makes 148bhp and 350Nm of torque.
