<p>Earlier this month, Kia introduced the new-generation Carnival, with an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 63.90 lakh. This marks an increase of nearly Rs 30 lakh compared to the previous model. While the former version was a fully imported CBU, the 2024&nbsp;Carnival is a locally assembled CKD model. Bookings for the upgraded premium MPV opened on September 16, and within just 24 hours, the car&nbsp;secured more than 1,822 reservations, setting a new record. The Kia model&nbsp;is available in two colour options: Fusion Black and Glacier White Pearl.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the carmaker&nbsp;has now commenced the deliveries of this luxury MPV in India, with former cricketer Suresh Raina being the first customer to receive it. The Carnival he bought is decked out in&nbsp;Glacier White Pearl.&nbsp;The handover took place at the Jayanti Kia dealership in Delhi NCR. The dealership also shared pictures and videos of the same on its official Instagram handle.</p>

In the latest development, Kia has officially revealed the ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figure of the new Carnival. And it is rated at 14.85km/l, up by 0.95km/l. This makes the updated Carnival more fuel-efficient than its predecessor, even though the powertrain setup remains the same&nbsp;– a&nbsp;2.2-litre, four-cylinder, CRDi turbocharged diesel&nbsp;engine with&nbsp;an eight-speed automatic transmission.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The diesel engine in the new Carnival utilises aluminium, while the engine in the outgoing model was based on a cast iron block. The power and torque figures stand at&nbsp;193bhp&nbsp;and 441Nm, respectively. The previous model made 200bhp and 440Nm of peak torque.&nbsp;</p>

The facelifted Kia Carnival will most likely get a 2.2-litre diesel engine, along with front and rear dash cameras, a head-up display, ventillated seats, ADAS, and more.

<p>An Instagram video shows the undisguised Kia Carnival undergoing testing in India.&nbsp;It is the fourth-generation model already on sale&nbsp;in the international market. We expect it to make its India debut sometime this year. No information on its pricing is available&nbsp;yet, but the refreshed model could fall in the&nbsp;range of Rs 32 lakh to Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom, India).&nbsp;</p>

<p>The front end of the test mule appears more upright compared to its predecessor, with the&nbsp;characteristic tiger nose grille made wider that is flanked by&nbsp;vertically stacked&nbsp;headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lights.&nbsp;There is also a redesigned&nbsp;front bumper with a small air intake, making the car look quite rugged. Along the side, the new Carnival gets a large greenhouse shape and a new alloy wheel design. At the rear, the L-shaped treatment continues as well, with the taillights connected by an LED light bar. The tailgate and rear bumper have&nbsp;been updated too.</p>

<p>In terms of size, the Carnival facelift appears&nbsp;larger than its predecessor. For your&nbsp;reference, the&nbsp;Kia KA4 showcased at the Auto Expo measures&nbsp;5,156mm long and 2,266mm wide. There aren't any interior images, but we expect Kia to redesign it similarly to the international-spec version. If true, expect it to offer&nbsp;twin curved displays for infotainment and instrumentation, both measuring 12.3 inches.</p>

<p>Along with this, one can also expect a heads-up display, multiple sunroofs, EV9-derived seats, revamped AC controls, a digital rear-view camera, a digital key,&nbsp;powered front seats, a premium sound system, a wireless charger, multiple airbags, and ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems).&nbsp;Overseas, the car is offered in 7-, 9-, and 11-seater configurations. <h2>Kia Carnival Facelift: Engine</h2>

<p>Expect the 198bhp, 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel&nbsp;diesel mated to an automatic transmission for the India-spec Carnival facelift. Meanwhile, the international-spec Carnival receives three distinct engine options:&nbsp;3.5-litre petrol, 1.6-litre petrol-electric, and 2.2-litre diesel. More details are yet to be made public.</p>
