Kia India has announced that bookings for the new Carnival MPV will commence on September 16 for a token amount of Rs 2 lakh. Interested buyers can make reservations through an authorised dealership or the company's official website. The pricing of the new Carnival will be announced on October 3, followed by deliveries. The Kia Carnival facelift will likely be brought to our market through a CBU (completely built unit) route, with local assembly planned for a later date. As a full import, the updated MPV could be positioned in the range of Rs 32 lakh to Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).
The facelifted Carnival is expected to use the same 2.2-litre diesel engine as its predecessor – discontinued in 2023, while the global-spec Carnival also comes with 3.5-litre V6 petrol and 1.6-litre turbo-petrol-hybrid options. As for its design and features, the upcoming Carnival will arrive with significant upgrades.
New Kia Carnival: Design, Features, and More
Unveiled globally last year, the new Kia Carnival features a bigger tiger-nose grille, L-shaped headlights, 'Star Map' LED running lights, a redesigned rear bumper, and a connected LED taillamp. It remains to be seen how Kia will spec the India-bound Carnival. Features-wise, the updated Kia Carnival is confirmed to come with dual integrated screens, power sliding doors, powered relaxation seats in the second row with ventilation and leg support, and two sunroofs: one for the front-seat occupants and the other for the second-row passengers. A 12-speaker Bose sound system and Level 2 ADAS with 23 autonomous features also form part of the list.
Expected features include a head-up display, EV9-derived seats, ambient lighting, revamped AC controls, a digital rear-view camera, front and rear dash cameras, a digital key, a wireless charger, and multiple airbags. Going by some market reports, the new model will be offered in a single variant upon launch. The company has also yet to reveal whether the Carnival will be available in multiple seating layouts just like the global-spec model. The latter comes in 7-, 9- and 11-seat configurations.

Upon arrival, the new Carnival will have no direct rivals but will serve as an alternative to the Toyota Innova Hycross. Apart from that, Kia India is preparing to launch its flagship electric SUV, the EV9, on October 3. This will mark a significant step in the company's strategy to expand its electric portfolio in India and align with the country's push toward greener mobility solutions.
