The 1-litre petrol engine is peppy in the city. My son also enjoys learning in it, because we had purchased an AMT variant. Driving for him is now very easy.

Tiago is better choice
I feel the Celerio's design is too simple. Tata Tiago is best. My friend brings his car to college every day. Even the girls like to be seen travelling in it because of its cute looks.
I have bought the Celerio three years back. Still using it regularly; not a single problem, no flat tyre even after doing so many roadtrips. A Maruti is a Matuti. Nobody can argue when it comes to them taking care of their customers.
I have purchased this vehicle after having had experience with a manual. My left leg gives me trouble after I fell down, and clutch is difficult to use. Thank you Maruti for launching AMT.
Easy to drive
I bought this for wife as it is automatic. She finds it very easy to drive and park. Actually even I have become addicted to driving as it does not need effort in traffic.
After the face-lift, I don't like it so much, but otherwise it is a great all-rounder. Best for small families and pricing is good too. I was thinking of Tiago also, but ended up buying this.
Maruti is reliable
Very nice small car from Maruti. I think it is their most trusted model after Alto. It's having better space than Alto, and offers good boot space as well.
The roads are flooded with Celerios. So many in white, silver and grey colour. It looks okay, but I prefer Tiago personally. But Maruti is offering nice exchange offer also.
AMT is nice
I am having the automatic model. Very happy using it, and my wife also drives it to drop kids at school in morning. She finds it is a simple car to drive.
1-litre engine is a good performer, it is quite fast in city.Mileage is good and Maruti offered a good discount during Diwali.
Fitting the car with automatic gears has given Maruti a chance to overprice a car which does not perform as high. Top AMT variant costs above 6 lakh rupees which is too much for the size and features offered. Not so happy with the price I paid for a sub-standard car.
Poor build quality
After using the car for a few months, all the doors close like those on an old, worn-out taxi. Even the suspension has developed odd squeaks after a single monsoon season. Not happy as I expect much better from Maruti.
Diesel engine harsh and rough after some time
My car is quite comfortable to travel in, even for long distances but the engine has become quite rough after a few days of speedy driving. It seems the engine is built to perform best at city speeds and cannot cope with an aggressive driving style.
Does not feel safe
Doors and other panels feel very light, sound hollow and thin if you knock on them. Raises safety concern and how it will perform in case of an accident. Making the car too lightweight has also reduced stability at higher speeds.
