Mercedes-Benz E-Class Highlights
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been the choice of wheels for consumers in this class, thanks to its longer wheelbase. As a matter of fact, the standard long-wheelbase E-Class you see above has been specially developed for the Indian market, giving a huge emphasis on rear-seat comfort.
Mercedes-Benz is well aware of the consumers in this segment and the manufacturer has chosen to launch the longer wheelbase E-Class as standard, given the consumer’s demand. Therefore, while the Mercedes-Benz E-Class price might have been increased ever so slightly with the update, it’s a whole lot of car for the money.
Exterior
There’s no going around the fact that the E-Class is unmistakably a Mercedes-Benz by design. The manufacturer has nicely designed the Mercedes-Benz E-Class new model to accommodate the extra length without making it too bulky. The overall design is classy, regal, and absolutely elegant. Some might even mistake it for the S-Class.
Variants
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class variants are as follows: Expression, Exclusive, Elite, and E 63 AMG S 4MATIC +. In the features department, it gets 12.3-inch Mercedes’ COMAND online infotainment system paired to a 13-speaker 590W Burmester sound system. Moreover, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class on-road price also gets you ambient lighting, electrically adjustable rear head restraints, twin touchpads on the steering, three-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and Mercedes rotary controller dial.
Interior
The rear seat of the E-Class is the best place to be inside. You get loads of legroom, knee room, and headroom, and controls for just about everything inside the car. The seats are excellently placed and are designed to offer maximum comfort in the right places over long distances.
The chauffeur, too, will enjoy his/her time in the driver’s seat as there’s just the right amount of space and the seats offer excellent support. The dashboard design has this familiarity with other models from Mercedes-Benz, as the overall materials and the abundance of leather set the tone beautifully.
Engine Specifications & Performance
Under the hood, the E-Class comes with four powertrain options. The entry-level variants are powered with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, good for 194bhp and 320Nm of torque. There’s an entry-level oil burner, too, which is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder CDI unit, capable of churning out 192bhp and 400Nm of torque.
Moving up the line, you can also opt for a 3.0-litre V6 diesel, which churns out 282bhp and 600Nm of torque. Enthusiasts can rejoice too, as the AMG derivative of the E-Class gets a 4.0-litre V8 petrol, capable of producing 612bhp and 850Nm of torque. All the engines are mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
