2024 MG Astor SUV Launched in India at Rs 9.98 Lakh, Gets Updated Infotainment System and More Connected Tech

Ranging from Rs 9.98 lakh to Rs 17.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the updated MG Astor SUV is available in five variants: Sprint, Shine, Select, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro.

<p>Following the reveal of the Gloster Blackstorm Edition, Morris Garages has now launched the Astor Blackstorm in the Indian market. The price for the all-black model starts at Rs 14.48&nbsp;lakh and goes up to Rs 15.77 lakh. Prices are ex-showroom. Similar to the Gloster Black Storm, the new Astor&nbsp;Black Storm edition&nbsp;comes&nbsp;with&nbsp;blacked-out&nbsp;elements on the outside, including&nbsp;an all-black honeycomb pattern grille, black finished headlamps, black alloy wheels (with red front brake callipers), black roof rails and door garnish, black front &amp;&nbsp;rear bumpers, etc.&nbsp;Plus, a&nbsp;'Blackstorm'&nbsp;badge is positioned on the front fender. <p>MG Motor India is offering a whopping discount of up to Rs 1.50 lakh on the Astor SUV until the 30th of June. The discount is valid for the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine variants of the Astor. The naturally aspirated petrol variants of the car can be had with a maximum discount of up to Rs 75,000. The benefits announced by the automaker include cash discounts, exchange bonuses, corporate discounts, and some exciting prizes. Notably, these benefits and discounts may vary depending on the variant, model year, region, dealership, and stock availability.</p>

<p>The compact SUV is available in 5 different trims – Style, Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy. The Astor SUV retails between Rs 10.82 lakh and Rs 18.69 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. <h2>MG Gloster Goes Black</h2>

<p>Last month, MG launched the Gloster Blackstorm edition at Rs 40.30 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The new SUV has redesigned styling, additional features, and the latest Level 1 ADAS capabilities. It’s available in two drivetrain configurations – 2WD and 4WD. The 2WD model uses a 2.0-litre single turbo-diesel unit, with 163bhp, and the 4WD model is powered by a 2.0-litre twin turbo-diesel unit, which produces 218bhp.</p>

<p>Other features of the Gloster include a dual panoramic sunroof, a 12-way adjustable driver's seat, an 8-way adjustable passenger seat, lane change assist, and adaptive cruise control.</p>

Meanwhile, Toyota recently announced&nbsp;its sales figures for April 2023.&nbsp;The company reported overall sales of 15,510 units last month, including 14,162 domestic dispatches&nbsp;and 1,348 overseas dispatches of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Domestic sales for the firm were 15,086 vehicles in the same period last year. It has resulted in a 6% drop in sales. Unlike last month's sales, the firm saw substantial revenue in March 2023. Its sales increased by 9% year-on-year to 18,670 units. In 2022, the company shipped 17,131 units in the domestic market at the same time. According to the automaker, numerous models such as the Innova Hycross, the&nbsp;Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the&nbsp;Innova Crysta, and the&nbsp;Hilux, among others, allowed it to sustain a strong sales performance in March 2023. <p><strong>The MG Astor, the latest mid-size SUV in the segment, has received an overwhelming response. The British carmaker has reported that the first batch of the MG Astor has already been sold out.</strong></p>

<p>MG India has commenced bookings for its newest entrant, the Astor, today. The firm has now reported that the first batch of the Astor has already been sold out for 2021. MG also plans of delivering the first 5,000 units of the Astor before the end of this year. The deliveries will commence from November 1, 2021. While MG has not disclosed the total number of bookings, it has confirmed that all units that were allocated for 2021 were sold out within a span of 20 minutes.</p>

<p>Interested customers can still book the Astor; however, the deliveries for the second lot will commence early next year. Mr Rajeev Chaba, President and MD, MG Motor India, said, ‘We are ecstatic about the response we have received from customers. However, given the global chip crisis that the industry is undergoing, we can only supply a limited number of cars this year. We expect supplies to become better from Q1 next year.’</p>

<p>So far, it is unclear if the MG Astor will continue with the current pricing or if it will see a price revision. The prices for the MG Astor begin&nbsp;at Rs 9.78 lakh (ex-showroom) and go&nbsp;all the way up to Rs 17.38 lakh (ex-showroom).</p>

<p>The mid-size SUV has debuted with a segment-first artificial intelligence system and the level-two autonomous driving tech. The engine options include a 1.5-litre petrol motor (108bhp and 144Nm), with a six-speed manual or an eight-step shift lock CVT. Higher variants get a 1.35-litre turbo petrol engine (138bhp and 220Nm), which comes paired to a six-speed auto-box.</p>

<p>The MG Astor mainly rivals the Volkswagen Taigun, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, and, to an extent,&nbsp;Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.</p>
