<p><strong>MG Motors India has plans to install new 1,000 electric vehicle charging facilities in the next three years. These new charging stations will be installed in residential areas across the nation.</strong></p>

<p>MG Motors India has started an initiative to install 1,000 electric vehicle chargers in the next 1,000 days. The initiative has been dubbed ‘MG Charge’&nbsp;and is targeted towards providing customers with the convenience of charging infrastructure, mainly in residential areas.</p>

<p>All 1,000 chargers will be AC fast Type 2 chargers, which will support most existing and future EVs. These chargers will be sim-enables and supported through a sharable Charger Management System.</p>

<p>‘The connected AC charging stations will cater to the residents and visitors of these societies.’ And MG India confirms that these charging facilities will be operational 24x7.</p>

<p>MG will collaborate with Electreefi (MG Developer Program &amp; Grant 2.0 winner), Exicom, Echargebays, Resident Welfare Associations, and other new partners for this initiative.</p>

<p>Speaking on the launch, Rajeev Chaba, President and Managing Director, MG Motor India, said, ‘MG is constantly working towards its mission of enhancing the EV ecosystem in India. With the launch of MG Charge, we will bring increased convenience and address the charging concern of customers, encouraging more to adopt the EV lifestyle. With this initiative, we will now have a 6-way charging solution for our customers and provide increased assurance and confidence.’</p>

<p>In other news, MG India is expected to launch the facelift ZS EV, which will mostly pack a larger battery, which in turn will offer a longer range.</p>

MG aims to install 1,000 chargers in the next three years

MG Motors India has plans to install new 1,000 electric vehicle charging facilities in the next three years. These new chargers will be installed in residential areas across the nation.

<p><strong>Soon after Hyundai announced its electrification plans for the Indian market, MG motors disclosed its idea regarding the same. The British carmaker will soon bring in a more affordable all-electric SUV, which will be&nbsp;positioned below the MG ZS EV.</strong></p>

<p>MG Motors India has confirmed that the company is working on a more affordable all-electric SUV. The British carmaker stated that the upcoming electric SUV will be based on a global platform, which will cater to <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mg/">MG’s </a>emerging markets, including India.</p>

<p>MG India is focusing on heavily localising the upcoming SUV, which mainly includes locally sourced battery packs and motors. The heavy localisation of components will give the brand an upper hand in terms of pricing, and MG has gone ahead on record to say, “if we are able to do a car between Rs10 lakh and Rs15 lakh, it can give us good volumes.” MG Motor India President and Managing Director Rajeev Chaba further added, “We will customise this car for the range and the Indian regulations and customer taste. It will be specially tailored for India.”</p>

<p>Currently, MG Motors India has the ZS EV on sale, which retails in two variants. The more affordable MG ZS EV Excite variant is priced at Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom), and the top-spec Exclusive variant is priced at Rs 24.68 lakh (ex-showroom).</p>

<p>The upcoming electric SUV is likely to debut by 2023 and could be positioned in the sub-four-meter crossover segment, i.e alongside the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/tata/nexon-ev/">Tata Nexon EV</a>. The upcoming<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mg/zs-ev/"> MG EV</a> will be a direct rival to the Nexon EV, which is priced between Rs 14.24 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs. 16.85 lakh (ex-showroom).</p>

<p>We’re also expecting <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/hyundai/">Hyundai</a> to join the affordable EV bandwagon very soon, as early this week the Korean giant confirmed its road map for electrification. There are good chances of a Hyundai Venue based all-electric crossover SUV debuting in the coming year.</p>
