<h2>Porsche Taycan EV Recall: Key Details</h2>

<p>Porsche has recalled over 176 units of the Taycan electric sedan due to a possible fault in the battery module or cell. The affected vehicles, built between October 21, 2019, and March 4, 2024, may have a defective battery module supplier system. This issue could lead to a short circuit within the battery, increasing the risk of a fire after thermal throttling.</p>

<p>This&nbsp;latest round of&nbsp;recall is part of a wider global recall impacting electric vehicles in several markets. In October this year, over 27,500 Taycan units, built during a certain time frame, were recalled. This recall coincided with Audi's decision to recall its e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT models, produced between 2022 and 2024, due to a battery fault that could lead to a fire hazard. Both recalls were initiated to address safety issues related to the vehicles' battery systems.</p>

Regarding range, the 4S can cover up to 642 km with the optional Performance Plus battery, while the Turbo offers a range of up to 630 km under WLTP standards.</p>

While the launch will happen sometime later,&nbsp;the Taycan 4S II and the Turbo II are priced at Rs 1.82 crore and Rs 2.53&nbsp;crore, respectively. Both prices are ex-showroom, India.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For a facelift, the Porsche Taycan gets a host of electrical upgrades, making it more powerful and quicker than the outgoing version. It comes in two configurations: a&nbsp;rear-wheel-drive setup and an&nbsp;all-wheel-drive arrangement, depending on the variant selected. Porsche has yet to launch the entry-level variant with a rear-wheel-drive system; however, at its price,&nbsp;the Taycan 4S II can be had with either an&nbsp;89kWh or an optional 105kWh battery pack.&nbsp;In the global-spec Taycan Facelift, the WLTP-certified range figures stand&nbsp;at&nbsp;557km for the smaller battery and 642km for the bigger battery, while the power and torque figures can reach up to 510bhp (590bhp with overboost) and 710Nm (using launch control), respectively.&nbsp;The India-spec figures are yet to be revealed.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

As of now, the Taycan Turbo is the quickest model in the company's India line-up, with a claimed 0 to 100km/h time of 2.7 seconds. One can expect the Turbo S and the Turbo GT to be launched in India later.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Porsche Taycan Facelift sits on an 800V architecture and is compatible with up to a 320kW fast charger. The adaptive air suspension system&nbsp;is&nbsp;standard, while&nbsp;the new Porsche Active Ride suspension is optional on&nbsp;all-wheel-drive models.</p>

Now, a teaser image released by the German manufacturer has shown the car's side profile, although hidden&nbsp;in shadow. Even so, we can spot a few design details, with the company saying it would be the "most dynamic Taycan of all time". The upcoming Taycan&nbsp;–&nbsp;which is scheduled to make its global debut on March 11&nbsp;–&nbsp;features a massive wing at the rear, indicating the car is a track-ready version of a prototype that&nbsp;not only shattered the&nbsp;Model S Plaid's EV lap record by 17.681 seconds but was also 26 seconds faster than the&nbsp;current Taycan Turbo S sports sedan.</p>

<p>While not much is known about the company's most powerful Taycan, Porsche could equip the model with&nbsp;a 986bhp (1000hp) three-motor setup, for it to keep pace with the Model S Plaid (1,006bhp). Besides, expect the new car from Porsche to get a revised chassis&nbsp;and new aero elements&nbsp;such as a carbon fibre spoiler. The pre-series Taycan Turbo GT, driven by&nbsp;Lars Kern, is also said to be 'a&nbsp;good 25km/h faster heading into the Schwedenkreuz', putting the distance between the Turbo GT and the Turbo S at more than 1.3 kilometres.</p>

<h2>New Porsche Taycan: Features</h2>

<p>Given that the&nbsp;Porsche Taycan Turbo GT will be a top-spec model in the Taycan's lineup, modifications over the Turbo S will include revamped bumpers, new headlights, a rear air intake, and a massive rear wing. For safety reasons, <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/porsche-taycan-turbo-gt-clocks-nurburgring-lap-beats-tesla-model-s-plaid-by-nearly-18-seconds-115741/">the pre-production car that lapped the Nurburgring ring</a> featured&nbsp;racing bucket seats and a roll cage, the latter of which could not find its way&nbsp;into the production-spec version.</p>

<h2>New Porsche Taycan: Price</h2>

<p>Price-wise, the&nbsp;2025&nbsp;Porsche Taycan starts at&nbsp;$ 101,395 for the entry-level model and goes up to&nbsp;$ 213,695 for the top-spec Turbo S Cross Turismo; however, this pricing doesn't include the future flagship.&nbsp;The electric car is expected to hit the U.S. market in&nbsp;the summer of 2024.</p>

<p>In the Indian market, Porsche currently retails two electric vehicles, namely&nbsp;the Taycan (Rs 1.61 crore) and the <a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/porsche-macan-turbo-ev-with-630bhp-launched-in-india-at-rs-165-crore-115963/">Macan Turbo (Rs 1.65 crore) – launched in India in January 2024</a>. <p>Porsche has issued a recall affecting nearly 40,000 units of the Taycan electric sports car. The company has noticed an issue with the wiring harness, which&nbsp;gets damaged when the front seats are adjusted. Notably, Porsche India has confirmed that none of the units in the country has been affected by the recall.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The German carmaker has said that safety features like airbags and seat belt pre-tensioners could get disabled when the car's passenger seats are longitudinally adjusted. For now, it's not clear which airbags will get disarmed. The company has recalled models that were manufactured between July 10, 2019, and May 18, 2021.</p>

<p>Affected owners have been advised to visit a dealership to get their cars checked. Porsche will use textile fabric tape 'to further secure the harness under the seat and help prevent the potential for harness damage during seat adjustment'.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/porsche/">Porsche’s </a>last recall for the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/porsche/taycan/">Taycan </a>was in July last year, which affected nearly 43,000 units of the Taycan and Taycan Cross Turismo, as there seemed to be a software glitch that randomly shut down the electric motor in 0.3% of the cases.&nbsp;Consequently, the company announced that it would ramp up its pre-production processes so that such issues do not creep into other electric models such as the Macan EV.&nbsp;</p>

Porsche has announced a recall affecting over 40,000 units of the Taycan after a wiring issue was discovered to disable safety features including airbags and seat belt pre-tensioners.
