<p>After having a successful 2014 in the Indian market with its Zest, Tata launched its latest offering, the Bolt, this&nbsp;morning. On the lines the Horizonext theme, Tata will make sure with the Bolt, you also get great build quality, rich purchasing experience and quality service. The new Tata Bolt also comes with a three year or one lakh kms warranty and also with a three year 24x7 free Roadside Assistance Service.</p>

<p>Speaking at the launch, Mr. Mayank Pareek, President – Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors said, “With the aim to deliver the best to our customers, we at Tata Motors are delighted to launch the much-awaited Bolt, a sporty hatchback. We expect Bolt to strengthen our presence in the hatchback market, one of the most popular segments for the Indian customers. A stylish car with many segment first features, the Bolt offers global design and standards that will equally bring in new first time buyers as well as appeal to existing auto users looking for a new and exciting product in this segment.&nbsp; Designed and engineered by our teams across India, UK and Italy, it is the next leap under our Horizonext strategy and represents the new DNA of our passenger vehicles business, with the commitment to provide the best vehicles and experiences to excite our customers.”</p>

<p>One of the key features of the car is the availability of three different driving modes with the Revotron 1.2T engine. Being the first car in its segment to have this feature, the Bolt comes with Sport, Eco and City modes that allow the driver to have the optimum performance depending on the road conditions.</p>

<p>The car will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol version will be India’s first hatchback to be powered by a 1.2-litre Turbocharged Multi-point Fuel Injection (MPFi) Petrol Engine – REVOTRON 1.2T. The engine will deliver a maximum output of 89bhp and peak torque of 140Nm.</p>

<p>The diesel variant will come with a Quadrajet 1.3-litre engine, delivering a maximum power of 74bhp and optimum torque of 190Nm that provides a peppy drive and effortless delivery of power.</p>

<p>According to the ARAI certifications, the Revotron 1.2T delivers 17.57 kms per litre and the Diesel engine delivers 22.95 kms per litre of fuel efficiency under standard test conditions.</p>

<p>The petrol variant of the Tata Bolt will start from Rs. 4.65 lakhs and the diesel version will begin from Rs. 5.75 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai).</p>

<p>Tata Motors will launch its highly anticipated Bolt on January 20, sources confirm. The bookings for the car have already started.</p>

<p>Made on the same platform as the India Vista, the Tata Bolt does look like its predecessor. But having said that, it also has some exclusive features like projector headlamps, floating roof effect at the rear and hi-res touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. Then there is always the first-in-class turbopetrol engine.</p>

<p>This second launch under the HorizonNext technology umbrella, Bolt will have the revised interiors and features. The design of the car has been made to look futuristic as the brand is trying hard to be a ‘desirable’ brand in the minds of Indian customers.</p>

<p>The 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged petrol engine makes 89bhp of maximum power and 140Nm of optimum torque. The another variant is a 1.3-litre diesel unit that takes its engine from Fiat and delivers 74bhp of maximum power. Also for the first time this segment will have a car that will have MULTI DRIVE providing three driving modes – Sport, City and Eco. Keeping in mind the pricing and the quality that Tata has managed to improve over the years, we have no doubt that the Bolt would be a hit in the Indian market.</p>

<p>Exactly one week ago, we had written that Tata had started taking online orders for its Bolt at a price of Rs. 11,000.Unlike Zest, the Bolt won’t have an automatic transmission, not even as an option.</p>

The petrol version will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged MPFi engine – Revotron 1.2T – which will provide a class-leading 90PS of power and a maximum torque of 140Nm. For the first time this segment will have a car that will have MULTI DRIVE providing three driving modes – Sport, City and Eco. The diesel variant will be the usual 75PS and 190Nm delivering machine which will make it very peppy and seamless car. Safety features will be taken care of by a 9<sup>th</sup> generation ABS by Bosch and Corner Stability Control (CSC).</p>
