The first quarter of 2018 has been all about different concepts from Tata Motors. It started at the Auto Expo 2018, with the official unveiling of the 45X and the H5X. And then it was soon followed by the E-Vision concept at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show in March 2018.
The E-Vision Concept has been developed on Tata’s new Impact 2.0 design philosophy. This new design language endows the sedan with sharp and futuristic elements. The Sanand-based car maker has further improved on the humanity line, and it now comes finished in brushed aluminium, which enhances the appeal of the front grille and the headlights. At the back, the taillights are sleek and stretched apart, giving it a wider stance. In profile too, the E-Vision concept looks sharper than anything that we’ve seen so far from the stables of Tata. The bonnet flows smoothly into the front windshield, from which it continues to the roof that blends into a coupe-like rear. The E-Vision concept has an equally sleek and futuristic interior. Tata has fitted the E-Vision with a floating centre console – the central infotainment system is hidden inside the dash, giving it a spacious feel. The rear bench is fully adjustable and adds to the comfort factor of the passengers.
As of now, there’s no information about the powertrain options that the Tata offering will come with, but it’s safe to assume that the car will be built on Tata’s Omega platform for EVs. Tata claims that the E-Vision will be offered in both slow-charging and fast charging options. Having said that, Tata did reveal that the car can achieve a 0 – 100km/h acceleration in under 7 seconds and has a top-speed of 200km/h.
Tata Motors seems to have its eyes set to the future, given all the connected car technologies that the E-Vision comes equipped with. It has a lot of features to flaunt, including cloud computing, geo-spatial mapping, live traffic updates and predictive energy management systems.
