<p>Tata Motors has launched a more powerful version of its existing Safari Storme model which has been given a new six-speed manual gearbox.</p>

<p>The Safari Storme has been given more power and a new gearbox. Tata Motors today launched the Safari Storme Varicor 400, with 154.8bhp and a manual six-speed gearbox in the top-end VX trim. The 4x2 VX variant is priced at Rs. 13.25 lakh, while the 4x4 VX variant is priced at Rs. 14.60 lakh, (ex-showroom, Delhi).</p>

<p>This new Safari Storme will be powered by the same 2.2 litre, four cylinder, common rail, turbo diesel engine but in a higher state of tune. Maximum power output is now 7.8bhp more than the current version and the engine now develops 80Nm more torque which makes it 400Nm between 1,750rpm and 2,500rpm. Considering the new model also gets a new six-speed gearbox makes it very practical as the torque will now be easily usable in all the gears.</p>

<p>The less powerful 147bhp model of the Safari Storme will still be available in lower trims, as the new Safari Storme Varicor 400 will be available only in the top-of-the-line VX trim in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive variants.</p>

<p>Apart from the Varicor 400 badging, there is no visual difference in the Safari Storme Varicor 400 and the current variant on both the sides.</p>

<p>Tata Motors has launched the new version of Safari Storme at Rs 9.9 lakh(ex-showroom, Delhi), with a slew of visual updates to the interiors and exteriors of the SUV.</p>

<p>The Safari Storme sports an all new upper and lower grille in Charcoal Grey and Ocean Grey, giving the car a refreshed look. A new diamond motif has been adopted, with ‘Storme’ now embossed in black, on the silver cladding of the hood of the vehicle. The roof rails of the Safari Storme also features subtle changes as part of the overhaul.</p>

<p>The interiors now sport a Java Black colour scheme but the biggest change inside is the addition of CONNECTNEXT infotainment system.</p>

<p>Under the hood, the Safari Storme is powered by a VARICOR turbocharged engine that delivers 150 PS of power and 320 NM of torque. Tata promises the car can accelerate from 0-100km/hr in 14 seconds. Fuel efficiency is measured at 14.1km/l.</p>

<p>The new Tata Safari Storme is available in four variants, namely, LX (4x2), EX (4x2), VX (4x2 and 4x4), and the buyers can choose from five colors, viz, Arctic Silver, Urban Bronze, Pearl White, Astern Black and Arctic White.</p>

<p>The Safari Storme Explorer Edition now comes with a front nudge guard, decals, chrome garnish for the projector headlamps and tail-lamps. Then there are tge ‘Explorer Edition’ door visors.</p>

<p>Inside too, the Explorer Edition comes with a 2-DIN touchscreen infotainment system with hands-free ability and phonebook operations, faux leather seat covers, reverse parking assist, and<br />
a navigation device</p>

<p>Tata Motors has also given the customers options to include a cycle carrier, cargo basket and a roof-mounted canopy.</p>
