TVS Motor Company is gearing up to launch a new electric scooter in India on 28 August, expanding its EV line-up beyond TVS iQube range. While the company has not confirmed the name, teasers and trademark filings point towards it being called the TVS Orbiter electric scooter. This launch signals TVS’s intent to reach a wider audience in India’s growing electric scooter market. The new model will sit below the iQube in the line-up, making it a more affordable option for buyers looking to switch to electric mobility.

The scooter is likely to use a hub-mounted motor and a smaller battery pack, helping to keep costs low while meeting the daily needs of city riders. The scooter is also expected to feature the 2.2kWh battery pack seen in the base iQube. This setup should deliver enough range for regular commutes while keeping the price in check, making it a sensible choice for urban use.
When it comes to features, the Orbiter is expected to focus on practicality rather than tech-heavy options. By keeping only the essentials, TVS aims to offer a value-packed scooter for cost-conscious buyers.

With a price expected to be lower than the iQube’s current range of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.59 lakh (ex-showroom), the scooter will take on competitors like the Ola S1X, Vida V2, and Bajaj Chetak.
