Just like the outgoing model, Triumph has brought in the updated Tiger 800 in three variants ranging from Rs 11.76 lakh to Rs 13.76 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India).

It has just been a few months since Triumph Motorcycles took the wraps off the new Tiger 800 range at EICMA and the bike is now here already. Triumph India today launched the 2018 Tiger range at a starting price of Rs 11.76 lakh. The top-spec XCx trim carries a price tag of Rs 13.76 lakh.

This new Tiger 800 is not an all-new model but it sure has a lot of changes from  the model it replaces - Triumph claims nearly 200. Starting with the heart, Triumph has fitted it with a lighter crankshaft thanks to which the power delivery is smoother. The British marquee has also shortened the first gear in a bid to improve low-end grunt. Power and torque output however remains more or less unchanged for the three-cylinder 800cc motor. It continues to make 94bhp and 79Nm.

Triumph has worked a lot on the electronics front in this update. As of now, the company has launched just three variants - the XR, XRx and the off-road spec XCx. To keep the price of the base variant competitive, Triumph hasn't equipped it with riding modes. The XRx, however, gets four riding modes while the XCx gets five. With the exception of the XR, the other two variants come fitted with  a cruise control, heated grips, a 5-inch TFT screen for the instrumentation, LED daytime running lamps, LED turn indicators, 5-way adjustable windscreen, and more. All three variants come with switchable ABS and traction control.

Triumph has sold more than 800 Tigers in India so far. In India, the Tiger 800 competes with the Honda Africa Twin and the Ducati Multistrada 950.
