The company claims an increase in range of 10 percent and six times faster charging

Zero Motorcycles has taken the wraps off its 2018 range of electric motorcycles. The company claims that these updated models have ‘raised the bar’ for electric bikes promising an improvement in range by 10 percent. Aside from that, the 2018 range can also be charged six times faster than the models before them. To achieve this, the American motorcycle manufacturer has fitted the new range with three new batteries - the ZF14.4, ZF7.2 and ZF3.6. Of these, the ZF14.4 is the largest battery. Motorcycles fitted with this and combined with the optional range-extending Power Rank ZF3.6 flaunt a range of about 350km.

Speaking about the new range Todd Andersen, Zero’s VP of Marketing, Sales and Aftersales said, “Zero continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the electric motorcycle space. Riders who’ve been waiting for more range and faster charging don’t have to wait any longer to go electric.”

Zero has also unveiled a new 6kW Charge tank that provides charging up to six times faster than before. This additional fitment is compatible with Zero S, SR, DS, and DSR models. Using the Charge Tank brings the charge time of the ZF7.2 down to one hour and for the ZF14.4 down to two hours. All the models that come fitted with these two batteries 11 percent more torque and 30 percent more torque going to the rear wheel. Apart from these updates, the 2018 range of Zero Motorcycles will also be offered with new colour options and graphics. Zero Motorcycles offers a five-year/unlimited kilometres warranty on its maintenance-free lithium-ion batteries.
