2023 Honda Dio Details Leaked Ahead of India Launch, to Get Digital Display & More

The 2023 Honda Dio has been leaked online ahead of its upcoming launch in the Indian market. It is the updated version of the existing Honda Dio, which comes powered by a 109.5cc single-cylinder engine. And all this while, we were believing it to be either the 125cc version of the Dio or the brand-new two-wheeler, the details of which were revealed by the company via a teaser video. However, it turns out that the Japanese bikemaker has been teasing the 2023 iteration of the 110cc Dio on its social media platforms if we go by these recently leaked details. For those unaware, the Honda Dio was launched in 2002 and was designed for young customers in the country. 

As per the leaked images, the new Honda Dio 110 will get a few feature upgrades. The scooter will sport a pair of vertically-stacked digital displays: a basic LCD screen and an advanced blue backlit display, which will be available on the DLX and H-Smart variants.

The large rectangular blue backlit unit will display real-time mileage, average mileage, speed, side-stand indicator, distance to empty, service due indicator, a 3-step Eco indicator, battery indicator, a smart key indicator, etc. The lower console will be carried over unaltered. The 2023 model will be available in three variants - Standard, Deluxe, and H-Smart. 

2023 Honda Dio: What Else to Expect?

Meanwhile, the 2023 version will continue to feature sporty and sharp styling. Upon launch, it will come with an LED headlamp, LED position light, split grab rail, retractable pillion footstep, under seat storage, pass switch, silent start with ACG, eSP technology, an optional side-stand engine cut-off, alloy wheels, Smart Key indicator, etc. But these features shall vary depending on the variant. 

2023 Honda Dio: Engine and Gearbox

At its heart will be a 109.5cc, air-cooled engine cranking out 7.75bhp of power at 8,000rpm and 9.03Nm of torque at 5,250rpm. The transmission duties will be carried out by a CVT unit. 

2023 Honda Dio: Hardware Details

In terms of suspension, the two-wheeler will feature telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. The braking hardware will consist of drum brakes at both ends. The scooter will ride on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels wrapped in tubeless tyres. 

2023 Honda Dio: Price, Rival

As for the colour palette, the Standard variant will go on sale in Sports Red2, Jazzy Blue Metallic, and Mat Axis Grey Metallic colour options, while the Deluxe will be offered in Mat Axis Grey Metallic, Dazzle Yellow Metallic, and Mat Sangria Red Metallic options. Last but not least, the top-spec H-Smart will have a choice of Mat Sangria Red Metallic, Matte Dark Blue, and Pearl Igneous Black colours.

Speaking of its pricing, we expect the latest Honda Dio to command a slight premium over the existing OBD2-compliant model, which retails at a starting price of Rs 70,211 (ex-showroom, Delhi). In the Indian market, the 2023 Honda Dio will go up against the Hero Maestro Edge 110.
