2024 Bajaj Chetak Urbane Electric Scooter Launched in India at Rs 1.15 Lakh

The Chetak Urbane has an IDC-certified range of 113-kilometre on a full charge, although it still uses the same 2.9kWh battery pack as its predecessor. This indicates better real-world performance as it goes above the Premium variant's 108-kilometre ARAI-certified range.

The 'Chetak Urbane,' a new version of Bajaj Auto's well-liked e-scooter, the Chetak, has been rolled out for the Indian market. With an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 1.15 lakh, the electric scooter provides a compelling choice for buyers. An upgrade called "Tecpac" is available for those who want more features; it costs Rs 1.21 lakh (ex-showroom). This step is in line with Bajaj Auto's aim to offer a variety of options in the field of electric mobility. The new Chetak Urbane is available for purchase alongside the top-of-the-line Premium model. Speaking of colour options, the Chetak Urbane can be had in four eye-catching paint jobs. These include Brooklyn Black, Indigo Metallic, Cyber White, and Matte Coarse Grey. Here's all that the new Chetak offers in its new avatar now that it has undergone a few changes from the previous model.

Bajaj Chetak Urbane: Design and Price

In terms of styling, the Chetak Urbane and the Premium trim share the same appearance. Design elements include a single-piece seat, a flat floorboard, curved body panels, and a circular LED headlight. The Chetak e-scooter nevertheless has a nostalgic look. Coming to the price factor, the newly launched Urbane edition is listed at Rs 1.15 lakh on the two-wheeler manufacturer's official website.

Bajaj Chetak Urbane: Battery Pack and Performance

The Chetak Urbane has an IDC-certified range of 113-kilometre on a full charge, although it still uses the same 2.9kWh battery pack as its predecessor. This indicates better real-world performance as it goes above the Premium variant's 108-kilometre ARAI-certified range. For those who value having a longer range in their electric scooters, the Urbane is an attractive option. Performance-wise, the regular Chetak Urbane may reach a top speed of 63km/h, which is in line with the current model. Customers who wish to go for the Tecpac upgrade, however, can access a peak speed of 73km/h.

Bajaj Chetak Urbane: Charging Time and Hardware

It is noteworthy that there has been a little alteration in the charging mechanics. The model currently on sale requires 3 hours and 50 minutes to fully charge, whereas the Chetak Urbane now requires 4 hours and 50 minutes. The new variant's off-board 650W charger compared to the top-spec Premium version's 800W charger is the reason for this modification. The Urbane is still a useful and effective option for urban commuting despite this modification. The model's braking setup consists of a front disc and a rear drum, and it rides on the same mono shock system up front and back.

Bajaj Chetak Urbane: Feature List

With the new TecPac, the scooter gets plenty of modern features such as reverse mode, LCD instrument cluster (from the Premium variant), sport mode, and a complete smartphone connectivity package with tamper alerts and Over-the-air updates.
