Triumph Motorcycles has updated the Scrambler 400X’s Indian portfolio with the introduction of a new Lava Red Satin paint finish. Replacing the earlier red-themed option, this fresh colourway brings a more striking and sophisticated look to the motorcycle, distinguished by its smooth satin texture. Compared to the outgoing Volcanic Red/Phantom Black scheme, the Lava Red Satin variant offers a brighter, more upscale appearance. Triumph has made no changes to the other colour choices, which remain available as before. Accompanying this cosmetic revision is a marginal price increase of Rs 758, bringing the Scrambler 400X’s new ex-showroom price to Rs 2.67 lakh.
In terms of styling, the Scrambler 400X features retro-inspired elements such as a round headlamp with a protective grille, a ribbed split seat, hand guards, and tank grips. Its upright posture and taller build, with a seat height of 835mm, give it an off-road-ready stance that distinguishes it from its sibling. While the overall design pays homage to classic scramblers, it also integrates modern touches like full LED lighting. The bike tips the scales at 179kg.
The Scrambler 400X is powered by the same 398.15cc liquid-cooled engine found in the Speed 400. This motor belongs to Triumph’s TR series of internal combustion engines.

It delivers a peak output of 39.5bhp and 27.5Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring a slip and assist clutch for smoother shifting and reduced rider fatigue.
Much like the Speed 400, the new Scrambler 400X comes well-equipped with a broad range of features. These include switchable traction control, a slip-and-assist clutch, ride-by-wire throttle, a semi-digital instrument console, an engine immobiliser, and a USB-C charging port. The instrument cluster combines a large analogue speedometer with a compact LCD screen that displays a digital tachometer, gear position indicator, trip data, and fuel level. Enhancements specific to the Scrambler 400X include a taller front fender, switchable ABS, a protective grille for the headlamp, and a radiator guard.
The front suspension setup consists of a 43mm big-piston upside-down fork offering 150mm of travel, matched by a rear unit with the same travel. Enhancing its off-road credentials, the Scrambler 400X is fitted with wider handlebars, a larger 19-inch front wheel, an enlarged cast steel brake pedal, and lower, wider footpegs with high-grip surfaces.
