Ducati has unveiled the 2026 Monster, marking the fifth generation of its long-running naked motorcycle line. The new model introduces a major technical update with the adoption of a new 890cc V2 engine, replacing the earlier 937cc unit. The new Monster aims to balance technological advancement and market adaptability, reflecting Ducati’s approach to evolving rider needs while retaining the character that defines the series. The 2026 Monster brings back a large, sculpted fuel tank, a detail long favoured by enthusiasts. The revised tank integrates functional vents and offers a wider steering lock for better manoeuvrability.

Structurally, Ducati retains the lightweight aluminium monocoque chassis introduced in 2020. The engine continues to act as a stressed member, with the frame bolted directly to the cylinder heads. It uses a technopolymer trellis subframe and a Panigale V4-style double-sided swingarm. These revisions result in a dry weight of 175kg, about 4kg lighter than before, contributing to improved handling and stability without sacrificing rigidity.
On the electronics side, the motorcycle includes a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit powering cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and engine-brake control. Four riding modes: Sport, Road, Urban, and Wet. A new 5-inch full-colour TFT screen manages settings, offering smartphone connectivity and navigation support.

The Monster’s 890cc V-twin produces 109.4bhp at 9,000rpm and 91Nm at 7,250rpm. Although torque is marginally lower than the outgoing unit, the motor gains variable intake timing for a broader torque curve and enhanced mid-range drive.
