Ducati has taken the wraps off its most extreme road-legal sports bike to date – the 2026 Panigale V4 R. The machine has seen comprehensive upgrades across different aspects, from styling to hardware. Its design is refined with a clear focus on aerodynamic performance and rider ergonomics. For the first time on a production motorcycle, Ducati has introduced Corner Sidepods from MotoGP. These sidepods generate ground effect at high lean angles, improving tyre grip mid-corner and allowing for tighter lines and faster exits. They are complemented by larger aero wings, which increase downforce by 25%, resulting in better high-speed stability and more precise handling under acceleration. Ducati has also integrated a dynamic front air intake system that boosts airflow and engine performance at top speed. Alongside the aerodynamic refinements, the bike's ergonomics have been optimised with a revised seat, tank, and footpeg (now positioned 10mm further inward) layout. Read on for more details.
The 2026 Panigale V4 R is powered by a 998cc Desmosedici Stradale R engine that is tuned to produce 215bhp at 15,500rpm, with a redline up to 16,500rpm in sixth gear in compliance with Euro 5+ regulations. Key updates include lighter pistons, a high-inertia crankshaft, and optimised intake and exhaust components for better combustion and power delivery.

When fitted with the racing exhaust and performance oil, the bike's output can rise to 236bhp. The Ducati Racing Gearbox places neutral below first gear and uses the patented Ducati Neutral Lock system to ensure smooth, safe, and precise shifting like on factory race bikes.
The 2026 Panigale V4 R uses a redesigned front frame and Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm. Other highlights include Ohlins suspension with a pressurised fork, adjustable shock, and a new steering damper, lightweight forged alloy wheels with Pirelli tyres (including options for Superbike slicks), and Brembo Hypure brakes and large discs.

Ducati has overhauled the Panigale V4 R’s electronics using its new Vehicle Observer (DVO) algorithm, enhancing the precision of engine braking and combined braking functions. The Race Brake Control system enables aggressive braking deeper into corners. Meanwhile, the updated 6.9-inch TFT dash includes a track-specific layout and a Grip Meter, offering riders instant feedback on available traction for optimal performance.
