Kawasaki India has launched the MY26 KLX230R S, a purpose-built off-road motorcycle priced at Rs 1.94 lakh (ex-showroom). Designed for riders who love exploring dirt trails but prefer a more approachable ride, this version gets a slightly lower seat height, making it easier to handle on tricky terrains. Under the minimal bodywork sits a 233cc, air‑cooled, fuel‑injected single-cylinder engine producing 19bhp at 7,800 rpm and 19.1 Nm at 6,200 rpm. Paired with a 6‑speed gearbox and electric start, the motor is tuned for steady torque delivery, just what you need for steep climbs, muddy paths, and tight forest tracks. Low-maintenance engineering means less time in the workshop and more time out in the wild.

Built around a steel perimeter frame, the bike tips the scales at just 129 kg. Suspension duties are handled by a 37 mm telescopic fork (220 mm travel) up front and New Uni‑Trak preload-adjustable rear suspension (223 mm travel) at the back. With 270 mm of ground clearance and a 900 mm seat height, it strikes a balance between capability and accessibility.

Styling cues come straight from Kawasaki’s KX motocross line — a number‑plate‑style front, slim side panels, and a flat seat that lets the rider shift positions freely. It’s a machine built less for daily commutes and more for those weekend adventures where the road truly ends.
