Royal Enfield has updated its popular adventure bike, the Himalayan 450, for 2026 with a new side stand. The Himalayan's previous side stand caused the bike to tilt excessively when parked, making it difficult to handle the 196 kg machine, especially on soft or sloped terrain. To tackle this issue, RE has equipped the 2026 iteration with a redesigned side stand that has a more upright design.
The new side stand is said to reduce the bike’s deep tilt when parked, keeping it more upright, improving stability, making it easier to handle, and enhancing safety for riders, especially on off-road or uneven terrain. It comes standard on all 2026 Himalayan models. If you already own a Royal Enfield Himalayan, here’s how you can get the new side stand for your bike.

Existing owners of the Himalayan 450 can also upgrade their bikes with the new side stand for Rs 3,250 through Royal Enfield service centres. However, extra charges for fitting may apply, and the part might need to be ordered in advance at some locations. The 2026 Himalayan is also said to feature an updated Chain Timing Tensioner to help reduce the engine’s ticking noise. However, existing bike owners are recommended to contact their nearest service centre for exact information regarding the replacement of this part.

A brand-new, 451cc liquid-cooled motor, codenamed Sherpa 450, powers the Himalayan. It cranks out 39.5bhp of maximum power at 8,000rpm and 40Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. The bike has a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch
The price of the Himalayan starts at Rs 3.06 lakh for the base Kaza Brown and reaches up to Rs 3.37 lakh for the Mana Black Edition. The bike competes with the KTM 390 Adventure, the Yezdi Adventure, and the Triumph Scrambler 400 X.
