Yamaha has revealed the 2026 Tricity 300 scooter with a new airbag feature. This is not a regular update, as it brings a safety system usually seen in cars. The integrated rider airbag, developed with Autoliv, is placed in the front apron and is designed to deploy during frontal impacts. It makes the Tricity 300 the first production scooter in the world to get this feature. For daily riders in busy city traffic, this adds an extra layer of protection. The design has been updated to match the new hardware, with a sharper and more compact front fairing. The changes also help accommodate the airbag unit while improving aerodynamics.

It gets vertically stacked triple LED position lights and a split LED tail lamp, giving it a more modern look. Yamaha has also revised the side panels and added new graphics. Colour options include Milky White, Zen Green, and Power Grey.

The Tricity 300 comes with a dual-screen setup. It includes a 4.2-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity for calls, music, and notifications through an app. A 2.8-inch LCD screen is also provided for basic riding data. Garmin navigation is also offered as standard. Other features include keyless ignition, a parking brake, and under-seat storage that can accommodate two full-face helmets.

Powering the scooter is a 292cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 28bhp and 29Nm. The engine setup has been updated to meet Euro5+ emission norms with changes to the catalytic converter and muffler. It uses a V-belt CVT transmission, designed for smooth operation in city conditions.

The Tricity 300 continues with Yamaha’s Leaning Multi-Wheel system, which uses two front wheels that lean together during cornering to improve grip and stability. It rides on 14-inch wheels with tubeless tyres, supported by double telescopic forks at the front and a unit swingarm at the rear.
Braking is handled by discs on all three wheels, supported by a Brake Control system, IMU, cornering ABS, and a Unified Braking System. It also gets a Standing Assist System to keep the scooter upright at stops. The scooter will go on sale in Europe in the second quarter of 2026.
