Aprilia has launched the SR 175 in India as a new model in its scooter range. It replaces the SR 160 and is priced at Rs 1.26 lakh (ex-showroom). The design remains similar to the previous model, but Aprilia has added two new colour options—Matte Prismatic Dark and Glossy Tech White. The scooter also gets new decals to mark its entry as an updated version.
The SR 175 gets a larger 174.7 cc engine, which produces 13.08bhp at 7,200 rpm and 14.14Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. This is an increase of 2bhp and 0.7Nm compared to the SR 160. Aprilia has retained the CVT gearbox, which helps maintain a smooth and steady power delivery. The engine update puts the SR 175 closer to other scooters in the 160-175cc segment.

A major feature of the SR 175 is the 5.5-inch TFT instrument cluster. This unit comes from Aprilia’s RS 457 series and supports multiple layouts and Bluetooth connectivity. Riders can connect their smartphones to the display, access calls and view navigation. This update makes the scooter more usable for riders who prefer connected features.
The SR 175 continues to use the same suspension and frame setup as before. It rides on 14-inch wheels fitted with 120-section tyres. The braking setup includes a disc at the front and a drum at the rear, with single-channel ABS. The suspension includes a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear, giving the scooter a setup suitable for daily use.

With the engine upgrade and the addition of new features, the SR 175 now enters the same space as the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160. While the price is higher than some rivals, the combination of power, technology, and design may appeal to users looking for a functional and feature-rich scooter.
