Ather 450S with 3.7kWh Battery Launched in India

Ather Energy has introduced a new variant of its popular 450S with a larger 3.7kWh battery pack. The scooter, with an upgraded battery capacity, now offers an IDC range of 161 kilometres, which was only available with the higher-end Ather 450X. It aims to make prospective buyers experience the convenient and hassle-free daily commutes. Bookings for the 450s with a larger 3.7kWh battery are now open across online and offline platforms, while deliveries are set to begin in August. The ex-showroom pricing of the scooter varies slightly depending on the city. 

Ather 450S: Design and Features

The Ather 450S 3.7kWh has the same signature sharp design and robust build. It features a 7-inch DeepView Display with Bluetooth support, turn-by-turn navigation, and adaptive brightness. Other highlights include AutoHold for easy starts on inclines, FallSafe for motor cut-off during accidents, as well as, automatic indicator cut-off.

The scooter also supports Amazon Alexa voice commands through AtherStack Pro and gets regular over-the-air (OTA) software updates.

Ather 450S: Battery

Despite the larger battery, the Ather 450S 3.7kWh is powered by the same 5.4 kW (7.224bhp) motor that delivers 22Nm of peak torque and a 0-40km/h acceleration in 3.9 seconds. The top speed is 90km/h.

The new Ather 450S offers convenient charging solutions. For instance, the scooter can achieve a 0-80% charge in approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes with Ather's home charger. For faster top-ups on the go, owners have access to Ather's extensive Ather Grid fast-charging network, which now boasts over 3,300 charging points nationwide.
