Ather Energy has announced that its family-oriented electric scooter, the Rizta, has sold over 2 lakh units since its launch in April 2024. While the first one lakh units were sold over almost a year, the remaining units followed in just six months since May 2025. According to Ather, the Rizta makes up more than 70% of the company’s total sales. It complements Ather’s performance-driven 450 series as a more practical option. The popularity of Rizta is driven by its combination of comfort, affordability, space, and safety. The family-focused scooter focuses on everyday practicality and modern technology, with a spacious, comfortable seat, a segment-leading storage of up to 56 litres, and a certified range of up to 159 kilometres.

The Rizta marks a shift in Ather Energy’s approach, from performance-oriented scooters to a model designed for comfort and convenience, targeting Indian families. It has a user-friendly design and is available in a wide range of colour options. Other key highlights include upright ergonomics, robust body panels, a long, spacious seat, and a flat floorboard, AtherStack navigation, over-the-air updates, and family-oriented safety features like SkidControl, FallSafe, Emergency Stop Signal, and TheftSafe.

The scooter gets a massive 56-litre storage capacity, including a 34-litre under-seat boot and optional 22-litre front storage, which makes it ideal for family commutes and daily errands.
The Ather Rizta is competitively priced, starting at Rs 1.05 lakh (ex-showroom), and is available in two variants, S and Z. It offers three battery options (2.7kWh, 2.9kWh, and 3.7kWh), delivering an IDC range between 123 kilometres and 159 kilometres. Both variants pack 4.3kW (5.77bhp) of peak power and 22Nm of maximum torque, enabling a top speed of 80km/h and a 0–40km/h acceleration in just 4.7 seconds.
