Ather announced a significant update for its family-oriented scooter, the Rizta, at its Community Day 2025. The scooter now comes with a touch-enabled cluster. However, it's worth noting that this feature is exclusive to the top-spec Z variant. The Rizta Z already has a 7-inch ‘DeepView’ display that delivers all essential ride information. With the touchscreen functionality, the unit has become more user-friendly and interactive. Ather states that the new feature, implemented based on customer feedback, significantly enhances rider-scooter interaction. It will become standard on all new models, while existing users can gain functionality through the Over-the-Air (OTA) software update. Other than this, the scooter remains the same in all aspects.
The Rizta was designed from the ground up to be a practical, family-friendly scooter. However, the lack of a touchscreen made it a less appealing option in the premium EV segment. The introduction of the touch-enabled cluster now brings a much-needed tech upgrade, combining practicality with smart connectivity.

In a segment crowded by contenders like the TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak, the Rizta Z’s new touchscreen solidifies its spot as an advanced, feature-packed scooter. It helps in offering a more premium intelligent ownership experience over just the basics.
The family-oriented electric scooter from Ather surpassed the one lakh unit sales milestone within a year of launch. The EV was unveiled at Ather Community Day in April 2024, and launched in June of the same year. It was strategically introduced to cater to the practical needs of families. The scooter's growing popularity in states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Odisha speaks volumes about its all-around appeal. It accounts for over 60% of Ather's total sales and has helped the brand, alongside the 450 series, to achieve the top spot in South India's EV market in Q4 FY25, according to Vahan data.
