Bharat Mobility Expo 2025: At the 2025 Auto Expo, Yamaha has unveiled a range of exciting models, many of which are unlikely to make their way to India. Still, the showcase highlighted the brand's impressive engineering and innovation, serving as a reminder to biking enthusiasts, particularly millennials, of Yamaha’s technological excellence. The 2025 FZ-S Fi, India’s first hybrid motorcycle, is the main attraction at the Yamaha pavilion. The model on display is the high-spec DLX variant, with the added power boost provided by the Integrated Starter Generator (ISG). For the uninitiated, the FZ-S Fi Hybrid is an entry-level commuter motorcycle designed for the Asian market, featuring a 149cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The hybrid system enhances acceleration from a standstill, improves fuel efficiency, and helps cut down emissions, particularly during lower revs, when most pollutants are produced.

Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid: Engine Details and Hardware Setup

On the mechanical front, the 2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid is powered by a 149cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, churning out 12.2bhp of maximum power and 13.3Nm of peak torque, mated to a five-speed gearbox. It features a mild-hybrid assist system that temporarily boosts torque output, providing a power surge.

The braking system consists of a 282mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc, both equipped with single-channel ABS. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends and has a kerb weight of 139kg.

Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid: Features

The 2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid boasts a newly designed colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, enabling functions like call and notification alerts, music control, and updated switchgear for managing these features. Additionally, the FZ-S Hybrid has LED indicators, traction control, and single-channel ABS, enhancing the safety quotient of the model.
