The upcoming BMW F 450 GS adventure bike has surfaced in patent images, giving enthusiasts a first look at the production model. Set to debut later this year, the F 450 GS closely resembles the concept shown at EICMA 2023 and the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. It will take over from the current 310cc models—G 310 GS, G 310 R, and G 310 RR—as BMW’s new starting point for adventure touring. Patent documents filed in the UK confirm that the final version sticks to the familiar GS look. It carries design elements from bigger siblings like the F 900 GS and R 1300 GS, with a tall windscreen, signature beak, and a standout X-shaped LED daytime light. Other details like gold front forks, a split seat, knuckle guards, sump protection, and a floating tail section point to its adventure-ready build.

BMW has packed the F 450 GS with useful tech for modern riders. Expect a full-colour TFT display, lean-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, and multiple ride modes. The underseat exhaust, alloy wheels with street tyres, and switchable dual-channel ABS round off its on-road and off-road features. Suspension duties are managed by upside-down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear.

Under the body, the bike is likely to use a 450cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that puts out around 48bhp. It should be paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch to make shifts smoother. With a concept weight of 179kg, it seems well-suited for both road and trail use. BMW might also launch a few versions of the bike, giving buyers more options—just like KTM does with its adventure range.

The production-ready F 450 GS is expected to break cover at EICMA 2025 in Milan. It will take on rivals like the KTM 390 Adventure and Honda CB500X. For BMW, this bike will play an important role in expanding its presence in the mid-capacity adventure market, offering more power and equipment than the outgoing 310cc range.
