BMW Motorrad has opened pre-bookings for the new BMW F 450 GS in India, ahead of its launch on 23 April 2026. Buyers can now head to authorised dealerships and reserve the bike before prices are announced at the official launch on 23 April. Ever since BMW first showed the motorcycle, it has been one of the most awaited middleweight ADV launches in the country. The new F 450 GS has been developed by BMW Motorrad along with TVS Motor Company, and it will be built at TVS' Hosur plant.

Production for export markets has already started, and the F 450 GS will also replace the outgoing BMW G 310 GS in India.
Design-wise, the bike clearly borrows plenty from the bigger BMW R 1300 GS, especially at the front. It gets a 19-inch front wheel, a 17-inch rear wheel, dual-purpose tyres, upside-down forks, and a rear monoshock setup. BMW will offer the motorcycle in four variants – Basic, Exclusive, Sport, and GS Trophy. Out of the lot, the GS Trophy version is likely to be the one off-road riders will look at first, thanks to its tubeless wire-spoke wheels and knobby tyres.
Power comes from a 420cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine producing 48bhp and 43Nm. BMW has given it a 135-degree firing order, which should help it sound and feel more characterful than your usual twin-cylinder setup. The motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox, while a slipper clutch and bi-directional quickshifter come as standard. On paper at least, these numbers put the F 450 GS right in the fight with the current crop of adventure bikes.
BMW is expected to price the F 450 GS at around Rs 5 lakh, ex-showroom, which means it will go straight up against the KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and Honda NX500.
