BSA Motorcycles has launched the Scrambler 650 in the UK and Europe, a year after its global debut at the Bike Shed Moto Show in London. Based on the Gold Star 650 platform, the Scrambler is powered by a 652cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 45bhp at 6,500rpm and 55Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. It comes with a 5-speed gearbox and a 12-litre fuel tank.
The Scrambler 650 differs from the Gold Star 650 in several ways. It gets a larger 19-inch front spoke wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, both fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres. This setup helps improve grip on uneven surfaces and adds to the bike’s off-road capability.

BSA has revised the design of the Scrambler 650. It features a new sub-frame, a narrower tail section, and a flat bench seat. A round plate under the seat carries the number ‘65’, linking the model to BSA’s brand history. The exhaust canister is tuned to produce a deeper sound.

The Scrambler 650 also includes some practical upgrades. These include fork gaiters, a handlebar brace, a high-mounted front fender, and a single-pod instrument cluster placed off-centre. BSA has given the bike exclusive colour options and different graphics to separate it from the Gold Star.

In India, the Scrambler 650 will cost more than the Gold Star 650, which is priced between Rs 3.10 lakh and Rs 3.45 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete with the Royal Enfield Bear 650. The Scrambler 650 offers a mix of classic design, functional features, and off-road use.
