…and it is priced at Rs 1.12 crore.

Ducati’s new flagship, the 1299 Superleggera has been launched in India and while it is one of the most expensive motorcycles on sale in India, it is also most technologically advanced road-legal offering. The Italian motorcycle manufacturer will only produce 500 units of this masterpiece worldwide which makes it among the most exclusive motorcycle in recent times. And it can be booked here in India, if you are willing to shell out Rs 1.12 crore plus taxes to acquire this beauty.

Hiding behind the fairing of the Ducati 1299 Superleggera is a 1,285cc L-twin engine that churns out 215bhp. Tipping the scale at just 156kg, it gets a power-to-weight ratio of 1378bhp/ton. To achieve this, Ducati has used a carbon fibre chassis, swing arm and body work. In fact, it is one of the few street-legal motorcycles to get a carbon fibre wheels. The engine too makes use of a lot of exotic materials including titanium valves, tungsten counter balancers and more. And if reduced weight and the power-to-weight ratio is still not enough for your bragging rights, an after-market exhaust can further reduce the weight by 4kg and increase the power by more than 4bhp.

Other equipment includes, Ohlins sourced fully adjustable 43mm USD up front and adjustable monoshock setup at the back. A motorcycle like this demands a strong electronics package. The 1299 Superleggera comes with Ducati Traction Control, stability control, cornering ABS, riding modes and more. In terms of design, the 1299 Superleggera gains inspiration from the Desmosedici prototype and comes with a unique red and white livery.

So, if you are a motorcycle fanatic with a penchant for exotics and the money to splurge on them, then this one should definitely make it into your garage. Hurry though, as mentioned before, only 500 of these will be produced, ever!
