Ducati has officially opened bookings for the highly anticipated DesertX Discovery in India, ahead of its upcoming launch. The bikemaker announced this update on its social media platform. The DesertX Discovery will be positioned between the standard and rally versions, with an ex-showroom price of approximately Rs 21 lakh. This adventure-focused motorcycle is expected to redefine off-road capabilities, offering advanced features and top-notch performance for riders seeking an exhilarating experience both on and off the road. The DesertX Discovery is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including fully adjustable suspension, advanced rider aids, and a powerful 937cc Testastretta V-twin engine.

Ducati enthusiasts can now secure their own DesertX Discovery by placing a booking at authorised dealerships. With its rugged design, premium features, and exceptional performance, the DesertX Discovery will likely be a game-changer in the adventure motorcycle segment. The official launch is expected to draw significant attention as Ducati continues to expand its presence in the Indian market.
Ducati DesertX Discovery: Appearance
The DesertX Discovery maintains a similar design to the standard model but features a distinctive black and red paint job. Design highlights include bull-bar protection for the fuel tank and water pump, a touring windscreen, a large belly guard, a radiator guard, hard-case panniers, an engine bash plate, and a centre stand. It also boasts elements like heated grips, aluminium cases, and a subframe.
Ducati DesertX Discovery: Engine Specs
On the mechanical front, the bike is propelled by a 937cc liquid-cooled Testastretta V-twin engine that generates 108bhp of maximum power at 9,250rpm and 92Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. This power is delivered to the rear wheel through a six-speed gearbox, featuring an up-and-down quick-shifter for smooth and efficient gear changes.
Ducati DesertX Discovery: Hardware Components
The Ducati DesertX Discovery is designed to provide optimal performance with its fully adjustable Kayaba suspension, which allows for precise tuning of preload, rebound, and compression. It features a 230mm travel inverted fork at the front and a 220mm travel monoshock in the rear.
The bike is mounted on a 21-inch front spoke wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel, both equipped with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres for superior traction. For braking, it employs 320mm front discs paired with Brembo M50 monobloc callipers, and a 265mm rear disc with two-piston callipers.
Ducati DesertX Discovery: Electronic Rider Aids
In terms of features and tech, the DesertX Discovery is outfitted with full-LED lighting and dual five-inch TFT-LCD screens, offering turn-by-turn navigation and smartphone connectivity. The company will offer free turn-by-turn navigation for up to five years, after which users will have to pay for continued service access.
The touring-friendly ADV also includes three riding modes for on-road use and two for off-roading, along with amenities like heated grips, traction control, power modes, engine brake control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, and cruise control.
