Ducati Desmo450 MX has made its India Debut at the Indian Supercross Racing League Season 2 finale, held in Calicut. The reveal took place during the final round of the championship, which earlier visited Pune and Hyderabad as part of its three-round calendar. This appearance marked the first time Indian race fans could see the Desmo450 MX in person at a live motorsport event. The motorcycle was displayed in the paddock area during the finale programme, which included multiple races across categories before the championship-deciding runs. Ducati used the ISRL platform to introduce its motocross project to the Indian audience ahead of its market entry. The company has confirmed that the Desmo450 MX will be launched in India in the first quarter of 2026.

The bike has a kerb weight of 104.8 kg and uses an aluminium perimeter frame weighing 9 kg. The frame is made up of 11 individual elements and uses the engine as a stressed member. This structure is designed to manage the loads created during jumps, landings and direction changes that define motocross riding.
Suspension components come from Showa, with 49 mm upside-down forks offering 310 mm of travel at the front and a rear monoshock providing 301 mm of travel. Both units are fully adjustable. Braking is handled by Brembo callipers with a 260 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc.

Powering the Desmo450 MX is a 449.6cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that features Ducati’s Desmodromic valve system. The engine produces 63bhp at 9,400 rpm and 54Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. Ducati states that 70 per cent of peak torque is available from 4,200 rpm, which supports controlled power delivery through corners and over jumps. The motor has a rev limit of 11,900 rpm and has been developed only for closed-course motocross racing, with no road certification planned.
